Google says I’m in the top 10% of all campground reviewers and this is the worst campground I’ve ever reviewed. I HAD TO WALK THOUGH ANOTHER CAMPSITE TO GET TO THE BATHROOM!!! AFTER DARK, IT WAS ALARMING FOR THEM!!! I asked for a tent site, (in other words, no hookups), and I’m not even in the park, the entrance to these 3 campsites is before you even get through the gates. As far as security goes, I’m really not even in the campground. I felt safer in the woods up north than right here in the suburbs where someone could come and steal my stuff because I’m not in the campground. (If these are so great, why was I the only one in these?) I’m back in the woods all by myself. I have to walk through other peoples’ campsites to get to the restrooms, and I’m still paying $45 a night. When I talked to the young lady who reserved this campsite for me, she was not at all accommodating. She didn’t apologize, and when she said I could move somewhere else, one of the other places she recommended, campsite 55, was also secluded, and required a 20 yard walk from the road. When they started mowing at 9 AM, it took away the whole morning coffee in a campground atmosphere for those on the grass in the campground. Yes, it is the closest campground that I know of to Duluth, but not what I paid for.

Unfortunately this was the worst camping experience we have ever had. We specifically reserved a walk in campsite so that we would be away from other campers. We got there to find that they didn't actually have walk in sites. We were able to park at our campsite, which was directly next to other campers. The people next to us were talking loudly, playing music and sawing wood until 2am, even after we asked them to quiet down. I'm sticking to state parks from now on, which has a ranger checking in on things at night. We had such a bad night that the next morning my 3 year old was whining, saying "noooo. I don't wanna have fun. Wanna go home!" If you don't mind being on top of your neighbor then feel free to pay their high prices but we will never be back. The photos show our car or tent in the foreground and the next campsite in the background. The next camper literally had their hammock just on the other side of our car. This campsite should not be labeled as a "walk in" site!

Very busy campground this weekend. For a city-owned campground my opinion is it should be upgraded considerably. Should have outhouses around the whole campground instead of one toilet and bath House. On construction sites they have to have one outhouse for every eight people for osha rules. But here they can have hundreds of people and just bath house with three toilets. They were very dirty and the sign said they were cleaned at noon each day. Out of paper towels. Floor was very muddy .The grounds were very wet and a RV got stuck in his campsite and had to be pulled out by a tow truck. Instead of fixing the site they rented it the next state of somebody else. The trails going through the woods down to the fishing pier we're untouched and you'd think that somebody could trim them out so you could walk through. I know there's nothing they can do about it but the train's going by constantly make it Very noisy. Come on city of Duluth! Step up and make some improvements!

We've been coming here for many, many years... I won't say which site, (because I want it to be available when I call to reserve it!), but we find the park to be one of the quieter ones we patronize. This is probably because there's no pool or playground, but most of the sites are quite spacious with lots of grass and tall, mature cottonwood trees which bathe much of the campground in dappled shade. There's also a large open green space in the center of the campground, with a gazebo if you want to have a dry gathering place. The cute little store does seem to have somewhat erratic hours, but they have a large stash of magazines to borrow! The bathrooms my hubby says are perfectly adequate for him, but not up to my standards. If you want to dress privately, you're going to have to do it in your shower stall, standing up, and make sure you have a way to hang all your stuff so as to not have to put it on the floor... Or bring your own bench. Shower temps are hit and miss, and occasionally you get a ZERO hot water shower. The campground does sell out on weekends, so we usually try to come up on a Sunday and leave on Friday. This goes a long way towards a better bathroom experience as well. If you're trying to drive from southern Minnesota for a Friday night to Sunday night trip, be prepared to get TOTALLY boogered in traffic, to the point where you're literally at a complete stop on the interstate. We just drove up here, (so going north towards Duluth), this past Sunday afternoon, and witnessed yet again the stopped traffic heading south. This has nothing to do with Indian Point Campground, but is relevant for anyone heading to Duluth for the weekend. You have...

We would like to say that we are not impressed with the fire pit that was 2 feet away from our R.V. and 1 foot away from our water hose and electrical cord. We could not move over because the site is not anywhere near level. We asked to have the pit moved and they moved it 1 foot over. (REALLY) We asked again and the young man said he would ask the campers coming in not to have a fire for one night till we checked out on Friday and when talking to the campers they were not advised that at all. We told the clerk and the campers to go ahead and use our fire pit so they could still have a fire. I believe the site was 44 and according to the friendly older couple that checked us in they said it has been an ongoing problems. Do you really have to ruin everyone's vacation with something so easy to fix???? We also had a huge hole behind our R.V. I suspect from a dog. It would be nice if the grounds keeper could fill and level these sites and make everyone happy. We are paying for the property and expect a nice level site. Another problem is ventilation in the washrooms/showers. Went to have a shower and it smells like sewer and perfume, I had to show in my R.V. because of the disgusting odors. Hope you can resolve these problems. P.s. We stayed at a campground for a week before your site and they had screens and windows in the showers/bathrooms and they did not smell at all. You might want to invest in windows...

Disappointed with our stay here. I had called about 3 weeks ahead if time to reserve an electric site for a tent. I was looking on the map while the reservation was made and I believe it was site 56 that we decided on. Of course they dont send you any confirmation email, but come to find out when we check in they never had our info even though I was charged half when I booked. The only sites that were available were 13-16 and 20. Well these all didn't have any trees or shade, but 20 was the best choice. The sites are very close together with barely any trees in the middle sites. The bathrooms are old, smelly and buggy. Taking a shower was horrible because there is no holder for any soap or a bench. They are narrow and I didn't even have room to get dressed unless I was right in front of the sinks, and I'm not a big gal at all. There were sites right in front of the bathrooms and I felt like I was walking through their campsite everytime I went to the bathroom. Lastly, we bought their firewood which was wet and out of all the places we camped on our trip this was the most expensive ($7) for only a few wood pieces and terrible quality. There is a nice trail down by the water we enjoyed, but once again, you are pretty much walking through someone's campsite to get there. Overall, for an electric, overcrowded, and no shade site, its overpriced. Next time we're in Duluth we will be checking out a...
