Amateurs. better to hire someone else or do it yourself In May 2022, I contracted ASP to install my skimmer for a flat fee of $250 (plus tax) for an above ground pool. When they came it was late in the day and the tech came by himself. This is a two person job, one person needs to be inside the pool and the other needs to hold the parts.
I bought brand new parts as they requested. I tried to help the tech, and I assisted with the installation. I went under my deck to hold parts/pipes and helped with installing screws into the skimmer. During the process the tech dropped one of the screws and did not install the skimmer properly-it leaked terribly and my yard got flooded.
I called to have ASP come out and reattach it, or to get some partial credit (e.g. half the cost because the job was not done, but I was flexible and would have accepted a $50 discount, I wanted to be fair-the job was not done right, but I wanted to make sure that they would be partially compensated at least for the service trip, but it was not a good business practice to charge for the entire $250 plus tax for a job that was not done). and after a few days /several attempts to reach them, they informed me that the job could not be done because it would require replacement of the pool and nothing could be done.
They did however, offer to give me a "free pool cleaning" or $50 off for a pool closing. These offers made no sense because I was told by them (ASP) that I needed a new pool! I got 3M mariners caulk, and installed the skimmer with another person and added the mariner;s caulk . Now it works fine/no leaks, but only because I did the repair. I accepted the pool cleaning offer, and they came on July 5, even though I was home my doors were open, the tech did not alert me that he came he went to the yard, took a picture of my pool and sent me an email with some readings but no cleaning because the tech said the pool pump water was low and nothing/no cleaning was done (pool still had debris) and no chemicals were added. The water door was removed and the cover for the skimmer was dropped in a hard to retrieve area below the deck.
Thank you for the lesson learned---just do the job yourself and don't hire...

My husband and I are new pool owners and they were very patient with us as I think I probably were driving them crazy LOL. We had another company open our pool but struggled to get them to come back to measure the pool for a safety cover and a schedule a closing so we moved on and found ASP. BEST DECISION EVER!!! I called on Tuesday and spoke with Lindsey asked to have a cleaning and to have the pool measured for a safety cover and John and his team were here on Friday. While waiting for our cover to come in, I thought there was something wrong with our filter and John was gracious enough to come out and take a look at it, just to put us at ease because nothing was wrong...... newbies...... what can I say LOL. But again, John was patient with us and understood that we had no idea what we were doing and took his time to explain things to my husband. Thank you John. Today our pool is winterized and closed with our new safety cover. I would definitely recommend ASP of Middlesex to anyone looking for a pool company that cares. See you guys next year in...
   Read moreFirst time (and last time) customer. Scheduled an initial one time cleaning after opening for the season. Our main reason for needing a pool service was for vacuuming the debris (dirt, sand, leaves, etc) from the bottom. We were also told the service included water balancing, chemicals, and equipment diagnostic.
Tech came with only one piece of equipment - a pole with a net. Stayed for maybe an hour, used the net to skim the water surface, removed some large leaves from pool, and added some algaecide before he left. If I hadn’t approached him in his vehicle he would’ve left without saying a word.
After contacting the management office, rather than offer to reconcile by completing the originally scheduled service, they tried to say we didn’t purchase the right level of service and asked us to pay more and even tried to upsell us on a subscription service.
