Pratt and Whitney Field at Rentschler Field is a great stadium that offers a lot for everyone. For football games there are seemingly no bad seats and sightlines to the field are excellent and unobstructed. If you sit on visitors' sidelines in the upper deck you have a great view of the game and you can see the skyline of nearby Hartford. If you choose to sit on the home team's sidelines you will be able to sit in the shade during a day game and the views of the field are very good. If you sit in the middle of the field you can get a chair back seat Other seats in the stadium are mostly metal bleachers. The views from the endzones and corners are also very good. On the concrete columns of the stadium, you can see signs about the history of the area and football program. Tickets to UConn football games are cheap compared to other college football stadiums. You really do get the best bang for your buck here. The stadium offers many great food choices including Chick Fil-A, Ted’s, Sam Adams Brewhouse, and Randy’s Wooster Street Pizza. The concessions will cost you here, but they are in line with most other stadiums. You will have to pay to park here and will have to walk a little bit to get to the stadium. It is best to get a parking pass online. Come prepared to deal with some traffic on the way in and out. Many people choose to tailgate in the parking lots. There is plenty of parking available for all games and events. Watching a college football game here offers all the thrills and amenities of a larger capacity stadium, in a smaller, more compact setting with better seating. The stadium is very easy to get around. Depending on how the Huskies are doing the atmosphere is pretty good. It is definitely a great place to take in a college...
Read moreMy husband and I attended the USA vs. Germany friendly soccer game yesterday, October 14, 2023. My husband paid for two seats through a known third party ticketing company. When we arrived at the game, we realized that we were assigned a seat and a standing space beside it. When this was brought to the attention of a stadium representative, she advised us that the space was for a wheelchair. Nowhere on the seating map or diagram was there any mention of wheelchair access spaces, let alone to mistakenly select that type of ticket. Our payment confirmation clearly stated; 2 seats, for the identical price. My husband had to stand for the entire game. To compound that, stadium security asked to see his tickets, at least three times throughout the game; proving his eligibility to stand in that area, as there were so many random people loitering in and crowding the area. The requests to show ticket was both disruptive and frustrating, for obvious reasons. Although our tickets were not purchased directly from the stadium, we believe that they have a responsibility to ensure that third parties representing them, are equipped with accurate information, to prevent false advertising, and...
Read moreThis place has a problem with their operation. I can complain about the seats or the extreme prices for food and drink, but that stuff is normal for sports stadiums. This big problems with this place are parking and what you can or can't bring into the stadium. One, the parking process there is a mess. They simply have no clue on how to orderly get cars to lots and parked in a timely manner. It causes massive backups out to route 84. You must plan on arriving 3 hours earlier than you thought in order to get parked and into the stadium in time for the event. Second is even worse. They explicitly state what is allowed into the stadium on their website; however, once you get there, they basically just make stuff up, such as "that item must be smaller than a piece of paper. Oops, I meant half a piece of paper. Oh, wait, it must be a clear bag". To be denied entry and then have to walk back to their terrible parking lots and miss half a game is absurd. Get it together. It costs way too much for parking and a game to have to deal...
