11/2024 update review
I have been living at PWL since the end of 2019. When I first moved in the building it really felt like a community especially during the COVID times. It has been a place where I have come to call home. As long as you stay out of other's people's business and carry on you can find it rather peaceful. Over the years, as there have been changes with staff, there have been bumps here and there when it comes to requests to fix items, but at the end of the day, they have always come through to help when needed. The Concierge team take on a lot and are our first line of defense. They are on their toes when it comes to protecting the tenants in the building. I have always had a pleasant experience with them because I am respectful to them.. After all it works both ways. Especially in the last year, things have continuously improved whether that is for fixing requests or general overall care and safety of the building and what we have access to. Is it always perfect, no, but I can say it has gotten better. I have been here to see the changes in the quality of people who live in the building which can have an impact on keeping where we live as a "community". This requires all of us to work together. Albeit, not everyone is 100% in compliance. The building is not perfect but I have seen continuous growth. I am a single woman who lives here and never felt scared to live here and moved around at night. Melanie and her team are doing the best they can but it requires everyone to make this building safe and to make a "happy place" to be. I know I do my part. Thank PWL team
11/2023 updated review.
It’s now almost 4 years. I upgraded the rating at PWL. Because so much growth has happened to improve where we live. Unfortunately you can’t satisfy everyone, but Melanie and her team do the best they can and even go above and beyond. My time here at PWL Bloomfield has been extraordinary. I live for peace and I stay on purpose with it. From which I have thrived. It’s important to have surroundings and people around you to make that happen. Thank you for making PWL a home to come to. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Keep up the great work y’all. Love i!!

I have been living at Parkway Lofts for 9 months now. Here's my experience 1) On-boarding process with Kamilah was great. She helped walk me through all the requirements. She was a great partner to start the process off and a great representation of their Mgmt team. Moving in - Also no issue (although my truck was delayed getting to the building, the concierge allow me extended time. Really appreciated that. To me it showed flexibility. 2) Unit - I am enjoying my views of NYC and the spaciousness of my place. No issues in the unit (amen to that). I haven't rented since the 90s and sold my 4 bedroom house and downsized to a two bedroom. Having the high ceilings provides the illusion and feel of a bigger unit. That by far was a winner for me. My neighbors are pleasant and my floor noise levels (if any) and bearable. 3)Concierge and support staff- I am a strong believer if you show/give respect you receive respect. The team have been amazing to me. They have all been kind to me (and vice versa) my family and visitors. 4)Cleanliness of the building - albeit this is not solely the responsibility of the building management as it is a partnership between renters and management. We can definitely do better in this category. I am a pet lover (don't have one) , however, the smell of the urine and view of feces inside and outside of the building can be overrun near the exits of the building. There is a dog park provided by PL (cool). However, some pet owners are not fully utilizing it or for that matter areas where the smell can be away from entrances/exits. Some carpeting on the floors can do with regular shampooing (also because of the human and pet traffic). Other than that, its a great atmosphere, the majority of people are nice and if you don't get caught up in rumor mills, it is a great place to come and experience apt /...
Read moreThis rating & review should be 3 1/2 stars however since 1/2 stars are not possible, I am making it a 4 star rating based on the Concierge Team and Maintenance Team since they provide 5 star service with a smile.
I’ve lived in luxury buildings prior to Parkway Lofts and while I agree with many of the reviews regarding this not truly being the typical type of luxury, I have to say in my opinion that I would say it’s down to earth non pretentious luxury which I like. And I’ll try to capture a bit of what I mean in the below ratings:
Concierge = 5 Star rating. No matter the time of day or the day of the week, the concierge staff is always on point! The daytime staff truly has the hardest job and they always do it with a smile. This is a team most managers dream of because they truly put the residents first... and literally remember everyone’s name! Nadia, Dawn and Laverne are the glue that hold it together up there.
Maintenance = 5 Star rating. Any maintenance issue I had was remedied quickly and thoroughly! The entire maintenance team is beyond helpful and so friendly as well and when they see you after the repair will stop and ask you if everything is ok with the repair. Paul & Byron are superheroes!
Amenities = 3 Star rating. Paying $75/ month for amenities (that $75 does NOT include your parking bc that’s another $75-$150 / month) that are not operational many times is diabolical work … gym equipment with printed out paper signs saying “out of order” or “not working” and having them remain that way for WEEKS is unacceptable. Literally almost 1/4 of the cardio machines were non operational at one time. Then the water bottle refill station in the gym will have a similar sign saying “don’t drink” or “out of order” … if that’s the case provide us with bottled waters or a water cooler … that’s what true luxury establishments would do. And the coffee machine … ::SIGH:: it’s a game of dice on whether it will be operational, whether there will be cups or stirrers or whether there will be pods available. Oh and the gates to this gated community are either not working 50% of the time or left wide open 50% of the time. The appliances in the lofts are 10-15 years old and not one bit luxury. And lastly the broken pool sticks in the game room which have been that way since I moved in and being overcharged by the vending machines in the vending room are the last two examples I’ll share that contribute to the 3 star rating of amenities.
Management / Leasing Office Staff = 3 Star rating. This is tough bc there are members of the staff that are better than others, however overall it’s a solid 3 stars. I worked with the office in advance to secure an elevator for my move in date so that my movers could get my goods into my apartment (mind you I came from 5 hours away) yet when I arrived I was told my movers needed to share an elevator with residents because there was a “Corporate Visit” and the elevator that was supposed to be mine for my move was now being used by the corporate staff. It took me telling the Manager that Parkway Lofts would then be responsible for paying the additional $750-$1500 to the moving company for the additional time it would take for the move since they (Parkway Lofts) failed to properly plan and have slowed down my move and my movers getting back home 5 hours away. Somehow the elevator then became available again for me. And the Manager I dealt with on resolving this was the same woman I encountered on the elevator who did not respond when I said hello to her just minutes earlier … you can’t make this up. I also found that I will receive different information and different answers to questions depending on who I encounter and ask in the office. Inconsistency will never be 5 stars.
All of the above averages to a 4 star rating.
My last reminder to Parkway Lofts is that classifying yourself as a luxury property comes with high expectations of providing luxury service 24/7 because that’s what the residents expect and deserve (& that includes honest feedback without fear of...

I came to view the building and apartment I'd be moving in around November 2024. I moved in December 2024 and on day 1 there was a major issue. The apartment I was showed was supposed to be a mirror image or very similar to what I'd be living in but since another tenant was still living there, it was not available for view.
Once moving in, I found that my apartment was over the garbage. (SKETCHY) Major issue for me. Still a gorgeous spot and not a complete deal breaker but it definitely gets annoying to look at mounds of garbage day in and out as well as hearing staff lower the platform to dump it multiple times a day.
The night I moved in, I noticed a very loud sound coming from under my apartment. I immediately went to the leasing office about the issue the following Monday. They promised to check it out and have the issue fixed. Well, after taking weeks to address the issue. No luck. Lets fast forward SIX MONTHS and no solution. After talking to several people, I found out that this is a recurring issue that multiple tenants have dealt with. So, scam 1 starts there. I went to the office multiple times a week for six months straight complaining about it only to be told that "we have someone coming in to fix it." To me, it seems like an issue that cannot be fixed. FOR SIX MONTHS STRAIGHT I HAVE HAD TO SLEEP WITH EAR PLUGS IN.
A new sound is emitting now, apparently from the water room, that vibrates the walls and concrete floor if you can believe that. The solution now is to move me to another unit, which I am being forced to PAY MORE FOR AFTER COMPLAINING FOR SIX MONTHS STRAIGHT. The new unit isnt nearly as nice. It is, however, slightly bigger. Big whoop. It is ugly and dark and like I said, not nearly as nice as the unit i am in now.
Good luck going out at night and coming back expecting to find somewhere to park. You won't. The gym is better than a hotel gym but absolutely not worth $75. I have a club gym membership that is HALF the price with many, many more amenities. The gym doesn't even have enough dumbbells, equipment to justify that price. I guess maybe you pay for the convenience? ( i use it maybe once a week bc i'd rather just go to a better gym)
There is a sewage smell in the bathroom. What even is that? This issue has yet to be addressed here. There are also flies in the unit, which I assume come from being above the garbage. I just cannot figure out where they are coming from. I am already a very clean person and it has driven me insane.
I will say the front desk staff are the nicest people. Just always pleasant to interact with. Greeting you by name is very nice and makes you feel at home. The building is nice but the walls are super thin. It is absolutely not worth the list prices haha. AT ALL. The area is ok. Borders East Orange but not the dangerous area of East Orange. The grounds are pretty clean. Rooftop is cool for entertaining.
I would suggest avoiding the second floor. Random karaoke nights in the room, you hear music blasting at 2 am. That was a little unbelievable to me. When people host parties, you definitely will have to turn your own music own to drown out the party.
Overall, my experience has been bad just because I feel like the leasing office is not being truthful about this unit. You knew the issue existed, you didn't address it and you still let someone move in here. So it seems like this will be a cycle aka SCAM.
Very, very unlikely that I will stay here past 1-year. (being forced to sleep with headphones in for six months has definitely been the wildest part for me, given how much it costs...
