Ambassador Fish and Chicken — Restaurant in East Orange

Great chicken. I mean really good chicken!!! Love coming here but I won’t be back here until this whole virus is over. The store is small and the customers that come in are not practicing distancing. The establishment also does not have anything in place such as markers on the floor to indicate the space, curbside pickup and they still don’t take your phone orders over the phone in this time to allow you to pay so you can be in and out. So people are just waiting around. You can step outside and wait but you still gotta go in to get your order with a crowd of people. They can do better. I know y’all gotta eat and pay bills but you can make the process safer for not only your staff but for the customers and the community you are in. I gave a high star still because the staff is always nice and I have no problems but i just want someone else to know this so you won’t be surprised like i was even though i ordered prior to getting there and thought I’d be in and out. I was trying to support local business instead of ordering from a chain restaurant by coming here but i also need the local business to do what’s right. The Mac and cheese was EXPIRED. It was separated and sour when we tasted it. Sour!!! My loved ones ate sour Mac and cheese because these people did not check when the Mac and cheese was made.

Returning to this location is hazardous to our health. Returning means food poisoning.

By 7 pm they had run out of food. They had no more whiting or shrimp. We had ordered Mac and cheese, macaroni salad, and collard greens and all of them were cold - as in straight from the fridge.

Our family has previous experience in ordering our meals from Ambassador. We thought that this place would be equal to or better than previous places because of our experiences.

The catfish, chicken wings, rice, and fries were good. My health and the health of my family is worth more than the few items that were good. So, the SOUR Mac and cheese trumps the good food items.

Please beware of...

I usually don't eat fry food and I try to avoid it as much as possible due to health concerns, but on any special occasion that I have I will always ((HIGHLY)) recommend to buy fried chicken from Ambassador Fish & Chicken....I once tried their fried chicken from my neighbor's house party and I took one bite and literally couldn't stop eating the chicken wings, it's so addicting to keep eating this chicken...I don't know what type of ingredients or preparation that they're doing to make this chicken absolutely perfect, it's tender, moist and crispy to the last bite...chicken easily pulled right off the bone...This location tops and destroys Popeyes, Chick-fil-A, Cluck-U or any other franchise, doesn't even come close to what or how Ambassador Fish & Chicken make their chicken a true...
