Good place to Launch into the Indian River from Edgewater This park is conveniently located just 2 blocks to the East of US-1 in Edgewater, Florida. You have to travel through residential areas to arrive at the venue. It is at the intersection of East Ocean Ave and S Riverside Drive. There are 2 parking lots: one is the the north side immediately after driving into the park and the other is the main lot directly ahead and near the water. The first lot is smaller and looked to have about 15 car spaces. The large lot is not a paved and has very few clearly marked spaces. I think you could probably park about 40 cars/trucks there. There is an uncovered playground, bathrooms and dock on the north end of the park. The East side has a small (about 10 feet wide) grass and a very small (about 6 feet wide) beach (only at low tide) and the boat ramp. Our group went there to kayak. It is a good place to launch into the River. Later the in the day, boat traffic can get fairly busy along the river so be careful. There is very little shade (read none) to speak of for this location but overall, it was very convenient and pleasant place to enter and exit the...

I took a ride down there this afternoon to see the Storm come in and there was a seagull With A Broken Wing by the playground. I called Wildlife Protective Services I even stopped by the Edgewater Police Department and spoke with an officer outside. Unfortunately, unless I was willing to go down there myself and try to capture this poor scared bird and then take it to Port Orange myself there was nothing anyone could do for it. Of course I attempted the best I could but with the storm rolling in there were no people out there to help me.:-( I have called every number I can think of and every number given to me. I pray this poor bird makes it through the night. I did make sure I left it with food and water. It was walking around and quite friendly but you could tell it swing had been broken:-(if there are any Heroes out there I'm sure you could find the poor thing. I have no other way of getting it...

I love this park! There is a lot to do even though it doesn't look like it. There are places to fish, a play ground for kids ( a small one with swings an a slide), you can do almost any type of water activity, especially since there is a boat ramp. There is a no swimming sign, but that is because there is a lot of boat traffic. If you are going to just be careful and stay away from where the boats are. There also is sand all around where the kids can use their sand toys. As you come in there is a beach volleyball court to the right and on the left is a Pavillion with about 6 picnic tables and 3 grills. A lot of people will bring a gazebo, coolers, and Minni grills if they're going to make a day of it. There are bathroom facilities, but watch the time they close at 8 p.m. and lock...

This park is the reason I fell in love with FL. So much happens here in such a short time. Ive seen fishermen pull out puffers, catfish, and others. Ive seen pods of dolphins swim past, pelicans, cormorants, eagles, and herons. You can park right up against the water and watch or they have a little pier and playground. I believe there are bathrooms here too. Ive seen people sunbathing, people that bring chairs just to watch the boats go past, it really is a calming place.

Menard-May Park in Edgewater, Florida is a delightful beach getaway tucked away along Riverside Drive. This cute little park offers fishing, abundant wildlife, a kids' playground, and even dolphin sightings. It's the perfect spot for a relaxing day out, where you can enjoy nature, cast a line, spot colorful birds, and unwind on the little serene beach. Don't miss the chance to experience the beauty and tranquility of Menard-May Park.

We have our annual neighborhood get-together at Menard-May Park each year. With the built-in charcoal grills and the covered picnic areas, it is good for just about any weather. You can fish off the beach area at high tide and at low tide, collect shells. Fun for everyone. I recently saw the Holiday Boat Parade from the park. It was a full moon. It just doesn't get much better than this!
