Filippos Pizza — Restaurant in Edgewater

Just went here for lunch, terrible. First, they over charged me. I got the lunch special 2 slices of pizza and fries. Pizza would be $2.82 and fries $1.60. add sales tax the total would be $4.68. They charged me $6.62. I tried to look at the receipt to see why the total wasn't what I expected but all that's on the receipt is the total, it doesn't say what each item costs so they can just make up any number and put it on the receipt.

Second, the food. I called to make my order and they guy sounded angry, I didn't even get to pick a toping. So they gave me two cheese pizzas. These things were super thin, and the crust hard as a rock. I felt like I was eating cardboard with cheese on it.

The fries had no taste and no seasonings, not even salt. Super dry and gross.

The food wouldn't be so bad if it came with sauce but I was never offered any sauce and I didn't see any to grab. Everyone was running all over the place yelling I couldn't even ask for any.

So, if you want to be over charged for some tasteless fries and cardboard with cheese on it, go to Flippo's. Otherwise, just go to Little Caesars and get you a hot and ready pizza. Only $5 for a whole pizza and it's delicious. Flippo's are basically just scammers I'm surprised they are still in bussiness.

You should also let people know ahead of time what the price will be. And you should put the price of each individual item on the receipt. But it doesn't matter, the food was...

First off, I'm giving this place 5 stars even if this evening was a bad experience. (I don't want to bring down their rating) They are the greatest pizza/sub joint around. HANDS DOWN!! We order take out at least 3 X's a week. For our home AND office. Their sauces(gravy's), their pizzas, stromboli,. Etc, are completely authentic & delicious!! The portions have always been very generous. So tonight my son wanted subs for dinner and this is absolutely our go-to spot. And, I've been wanting to try the Gyro. We got 3-subs. (Buy 2- get 1-free) My son ended up with 2 Chix Parm subs instead of the 1-Chix Parm & 1-Meatball. We did change it while placing the order, and she said she understood and read back the order correct. However, we didn't find the mix up until home. My Gyro was not good at all! I ordered it plain and got an extra pita. (Because, usually u get so much meat...you can make 2!) The meat was merely 5- SUPER thin slices of what looked like processed meat product. Definitely not fresh carved off a spit! I think I was even more shocked and disappointed by the amount....until I took a bite. I couldn't even take a second. After reading numerous good and bad reviews, I decided to try Filippos for myself. I was not disappointed at all. From upon entering, you could tell this place gets good business. I struck up conversation with whom I thought was an employee, as I requested their name to mention in the review. Turns out, it was the owner himself, Filippo. We talked about food, pizzas, ethics and morals, and I could tell, he's a true gentleman with a good heart. I ordered a Gyro for pickup, which was FANTASTIC! Reasonably priced, and scrumptious! I WILL be going back again and again, as I cannot let a gem like this place lose my business. They take my money, and I take their food, it's the best trade one could make.
