Grew up in this park for over 10 years. There is lots of old memories here... Although it looks different then it used to because of the new rocket ship. Me and my group of friends basically lived at this park! I stayed right in front of it since I was 5 It was my escape from reality... Basketball court and pavilion that my family and close friends have been throwing parties at for ages! Church groups come and give free food sometimes also! Watching kids play tball or practice soccer, its a scene from a movie! Its a really great neighborhood nothing bad ever seemed to go wrong. Its a safe haven in my eyes. Walking concrete trail around it for bikes also. Port-a-potties. Water fountains. Charcoal grills and when it rains its the most beautiful scene under the pavilion. The pavilion even has outlets in the roof and concrete slabs for parties. Trash cans and quite a bit of parking. Although weekends are very busy there its great to hear the sound of kids laughter through your back window and the trees and flowers are beautiful during spring! We used to climb on the big rock sign in front of the park and run to the softball feels caticornered from it(which is now the splash pad) its really a great place and only a few blocks away from Ida Freeman Elementary School and a block behind it is a fantastic church for v.b.s which I also went to! Lots of memories I will...

The park is scattered with good shade trees and there are trash cans located...
