Belvedere Events & Catering — Attraction in Elk Grove Township

I want to give my honest review for my future bride friends. Yes, this place is absolutely beautiful! That’s why we fell in love with this place. However, if you’re not dropping major dollars on your wedding at this place, they will treat you like your wedding isn’t important. We were told so many promises and each one was broken one by one. To start, we were told we would have the Friday prior or the morning of our wedding to decorate, set up, stage. A month before our wedding we were told “the venue booked another event the morning of your wedding.” We were told “don’t worry the event prior to your wedding will be done by 1:30/2pm the latest don’t worry there will be plenty of time for set up”… the venue didn’t start setting up till 3pm… 1 hour prior to guest arriving. We were told “don’t worry we will have your ceremony staged for rehearsal” that never happened. We had to practice using the other weddings set up. I worked very hard on seating chart, color coding arrangements for family and friends that have major dietary restrictions, the venue paid no attention to that, the wrong meals were served to the wrong people. We were also told “any meals of guest that didn’t come, we would go home with” we didn’t go home with any extra meals, and I know at least 5 family’s that didn’t come. Mean while as we are dealing with all of this, I didn’t have just 1 but 3 mental break downs because of everything the venue has already been putting us through. However, the other wedding because they dropped major money for their wedding, they were treated very well and never bothered. Our ceremony room was so crowded in the front, a bridesmaid of mine nearly fell on my mother in law due to the space that this venue did not provide enough of, there was plenty of space in the back to space out the chairs and stage but they choice not to. During our ceremony, pots and pans and staff talking loudly were going on… DURING THE CEREMONY! Be far warned if you choose this location you HAVE to drop major money or they will not care about you. Yes, at the end of the day we were married and heard a lot of compliments on how beautiful the venue itself was. But a lot of complaints about everything listed above. I am still on fence on if I’d recommend this venue or not. I hope this helps my future...

It was an absolute pleasure working with you and we are truly grateful that we had you at our side from start to finish while planning my brother’s wedding. From the first time we met you, we knew we were in good hands. It was truly your first impression and the beauty of the venue that helped Ben and Adriana make an instant decision that they wanted to celebrate their special day at Belvedere. I appreciated you being so prompt when replying to the overflow of emails coming from us and your impeccable organization skills that kept us on track. Not only are you amazing with planning and all the operational aspects, but you are amazing at calming people down and assuring us that everything would work out perfectly fine when the stress of wedding planning gets overwhelming (especially that night before the wedding when I was literally on the verge of a panic attack!😊). You and Doro were so accommodating on the night of the reception and it definitely allowed us to enjoy the night without worry. Our guests, along with the band and photographer/videographer, have all been raving about the entire event, including the service, food, and the beautiful venue. I’m pretty sure we unofficially won best wedding of the 2019 wedding season among our Albanian community!😂

Again, it was a pleasure working with you and thank you for literally treating us like family rather than just another client walking through the door. We were so confident that you put your entire heart into your work and it all showed at the reception. We will most definitely be recommending Belvedere to all our family and friends and be sure to tell them that Catherine is the best of the best!

AMAZING!! My husband and I are so happy to have hosted our New Year's Eve wedding reception at the Belvedere. It was absolutely perfect! I have truly enjoyed working with all of the staff at the Belvedere. From our first meeting to the day of the wedding, Catherine and the rest of the staff went above and beyond for us. They were excellent handling our last minute changes, and a joy to work with. Catherine was very quick with answering any questions we had, she made excellent recommendations, and provided honest feedback in what would help our day run smoothly. Besides the staff, the venue itself is truly beautiful. Every guest was blown away by the lobby area where the first part of cocktail hour was hosted. The gorgeous fountain and decor provided some unique backdrops for our wedding photographer as well. The reception area decor is neutral colored, which we loved, because we could transform it with uplighting and decorations very easily to create the NYE atmosphere that we wanted. We rented the fire pit and heat lamps for the patio and that was a huge hit for many people cooling down outside. The catering was delicious!! We received so much amazing feedback about how good every course of the meal was; and the appetizers were to die for - my personal favorite being the cheeseburger slider on a waffle fry!!
