My wife and I stayed here to get out of the house for our anniversary, but were kind of let down. I was specifically looking in the area for a whirlpool suite (a little last minute) and this was the only place that had one available at a reasonable rate.
Nothing major was wrong with our stay, but a lot of little things do add up. We stayed in room 416 and there was a giant bleached spot on the old carpet in front of the door. Not exactly the first thing you want to see before getting into your room for a nice weekend.
The walls had a lot of touch ups. With the amount of mismatched paint, I don't understand why they didn't just repaint the whole suite. The bathroom had peeling wallpaper. Overall the feel of the room was just kind of meh that definitely needs updated and not much better than a motel. I know the hotel is responding to reviews about this saying they're going to be renovating in the coming months, but that's not exactly a definite time frame.
The whirlpool tub was nice, which was the main reason for booking the room. It worked fine with no issues once we figured out that the jets wouldn't turn on unless you turn the fan on next to the light switch. We had 2 TVs and 3 remotes in the suite. Only one remote worked. Luckily it worked for both TVs. Would've been nice to have a TV channel guide since it was just a basic setup. Our room was facing the bar next door. We could hear everyone coming out to talk and smoke, normal bar stuff, when we went to bed Friday night. The in room coffee maker sits on a countertop with no outlet, so you've got to go looking for an outlet to plug it into. No clock in the room, except for the microwave. I know most people use their phones to check the time, but it's still nice to check the time without pulling out your phone or have a backup alarm if your phone doesn't charge, right? I slept fine on the bed. Nothing extraordinary.
Breakfast was alright. A step above just juice and oatmeal by having sausage and microwavable breakfast sandwiches. The breakfast attendant was great about refilling the coffee that seemed like it only held a few cups worth in it.
Overall, there wasn't one thing that was really bad about this place, but there were a lot of little things off that I considered to be basic things for hotels. In the end, we had a working whirlpool tub, which is what we wanted. If I'm in the area again and have the option, I'll stay somewhere else. At least until these...
Read moreI chose this property due to it's great rating/reviews. Unfortunately, we had the worst experience. We stayed 3 nights at the hotel and ended up getting sick due to mold. We were extremely dissatisfied to say the least. After staying 1 night, I woke up with allergies/watery eyes. I have many allergies including to dust so I thought nothing of it until my daughter's also started sneezing non stop. They do not normally suffer from allergies like me so I thought it was strange. I had to go purchase allergy medicine which didn't help them. That 2nd night I noticed a strange smell coming from behind the bed/wall. I thought maybe it had to do with my allergies since my husband said he didn't smell anything so I ended up staying in the other bed with my daughters and no longer smelled it. My husband on the other hand finally confirmed he too smelled something musty almost urine like smell. That is when I reached out to the front desk via message. Unfortunately, it was the middle of the night so I didn't get a response until the next morning. Either way my daughters were already asleep. My allergies improved drastically after switching rooms. I was offered a reimbursement for the extra fee I paid for early arrival ($40).However, after all we experienced $40 really isn't enough. Besides getting sick there were many things wrong with our room/hotel. The fan in our 1st bathroom didn't work. There was a leak under the bathroom sink. The water in the pool was poorly maintained. The water was freezing and cloudy. It definitely needs many upgrades/repairs. The pool and hot tub had a handicap accesible chair lift that was completely rusted out (possibly leaking/contaminating both). The dryer on the 3rd or 4th floor (cant remember as that was the 2nd room we stayed in for 1 night) wasn't working. I asked the front desk via the messaging chat to see if there was another one in the building but I never heard back. I was trying to dry our towels before heading home. I really do hope no one experiences what we did as a family. I paid for 3 nights just to get sick. The only good things I can say is that the staff was friendly & the...

I reported the suspicion of mold, leaking sink in the bathroom and feeling sick. They just responded saying thank you for letting us know. That was it. I then asked if we could switch rooms as we still had 1 night left. They agreed. As I was getting the key for different room, my husband and daughters saw a cockroach in the room. I let the front desk know via message and they said it was an isolated incident as they spray monthly.
