My husband, young daughter, and I visited the Dorothy Molter Museum. If you are not a member, adults pay $7 and kids are $4.50. They offer guided tours or you can go and explore on your own. We chose to explore on our own. You will tour three cabins that Dorothy had on her property and in one cabin there is a video you can watch and see how Dorothy lived, which was very interesting. I felt "The Dorothy Trail" was kind of a let down, its more just a path in the woods with signs that you can read. The highlight was the cabins and of course Dorothys root beer, that you need to buy at least one and try! We bought a six pack thinking it would last at least a week, we don't drink soda very often, but we have one left and it hasn't even been 24 hours since we visited the museum! If you are in the area and have time and looking for something to do for less, I recommend stopping here to learn some history of the area and of course try...
Read moreIf you are in a wheelchair I do not recommend. If you have a manual chair you might manage to get into most of the buildings if you can get to them through the gravel. We had a powerchair, could only get into part of the 1st building. The back room had too small of a doorway. The second building you will need to make a sharp turn going up a step ramped step, with no room to line your wheelchair up. No turning radius. 3rd building they do state in their page is only 32 inches, so too small for our chair for sure. Even in a power chair we got stuck in the gravel trying to get back to the entrance to leave. It was basically a wasted trip and fee for us. If you don't have accessibility issues it's...
Read moreWe have an electric powered chair for my quadriplegic nephew. The staff warned we would only be able to get into 2 of the three cabins but actually it was only accessible part way through one. They also knew the trails would not be accessible. When informed there wasn’t really any accessibility they apologized but no offer of refund for the fact we didn’t get to see anything. Also, the local grocery store sells cases of the same Root Beer...
