A must see! We just happened to drive by on a Saturday late afternoon, when I noticed this rock house. I told my friend, we must go back and see this House, I'd like to sneak a few photo's. Well then as I went around the block to park I noticed it was a museum. Unfortunately it had already closed. But I love rocks, stones, natural things, so we got out of the car so I could take some photo's of this amazing place. I couldn't believe there was even petrified wood! The more I got closer to the house I had to touch the house to see if this is for real! But it was. The entire house, gate and garage is covered in natural stones from all over Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Colorado. It was quite beautiful. The more I went around this house the more I fell in love. As we started to head toward the back and under the rock arbor gate, a man came out. At first I thought he would kick us off the property, but oh no, not in Oklahoma, especially a city like Enid, Oklahoma. He was not only very kind, he explained some details about the house and the museum as we walked all around the outside of the property. Then much to our surprise, he invited us inside for a private tour! Oh my goodness, I was so thrilled to see and learn all the details about this house and why and how it became this incredible rock house and now a museum. The inside has multiple details and many historic stories to share. Next time your in Enid, Oklahoma stop in and visit this quaint museum. Its a short tour and well worth it. Check out open and closing times because I'm not sure everyone is as lucky as we were to get the private tour. Thank you to the curator who gave us this wonderful tour. Much appreciated. Read moreJust went to this museum today and had a good time. So much to look at! The man there was very nice and informative. Apparently this place had been closed since 2019 and just reopened recently. Its a great place to take kids who are interested in rocks and fossils. It would also be a great place to take your elderly grandparents as the house isn't that big and there's not a ton of walking to do but so much to see! Cute gift shop,...
Read moreI have never been to this Museum myself, that I have a number of friends who have been to it and who have been back several times, and they all say it is a fabulous Museum. I have always intended to go, but it seems like every time I plan on it, something else comes up. But that's just life. Then when I do have a spare moment, it totally slipped my mind. But I promised myself I...
