This review is for the passport processing office inside the library. Aside from being a totally rude person who has no business working in a customer service position dealing with human beings, employee Chris Reinard requires documents that are not required for the passport renewal application. I was turned away & wasted time driving back & forth because she demanded to see the "original birth certificate with the state seal" while applying to renew an unexpired passport that I provided as proof of citizenship. I left the location but when I reviewed the application instructions carefully, I returned back & asked her to explain what was her information based upon because the State Department clearly accepts the old passport as proof of citizenship & that a birth certificate is NOT required. The answer she gave me was "I have other things to do & I have no time to prove to you what I know"!!! I learned from other people that Ms. Reinard has been there for a while & that she trains newer employees - obviously giving them wrong information. When I insisted she processes my application, she allowed Brad - seems to be a new employee- while threatening "I'll process it but they will reject it & send back asking for the birth certificate"!! I checked with another location -without mentioning what happened- & the information was confirmed that all is needed are the old passport & a valid ID, NO Birth certifícate required! I recommend removing he from the position of dealing with the public & giving her another clerical job that requires no human interaction. If management decided to keep her in the same position, I recommend retraining her in the Dept of State passport process & assisting her by providing customer service training every month until her retirement! I will file a complaint with the Dept of State as well as with the library board & Congressman Smucker's office and will follow up on this matter...
Read moreI was impressed with all the staff who assisted me with all my needs today. This library is an amazing sets the tone for àll lancaster libraries to follow. I was with all the local artwork by ephrata students. It was very clean and resourceful. All librarians were awesome today. Josh the computer genius was very resourceful to me. Everyone here at this location deserves a raise. In closing with being libary month and autism month this libary is set for all ages and disabilities. It's even wheel chair accessible. I was overwhelmed with joy and presence at this location. It knocks out of the ballpark for libraries. My sincere congratulations go to thus libary...in God's love...

From this location you can request books from any other library in Lancaster County and pick it up here. They also have an online reservation system that will allow you to reserve online and pick up later.
Our kids love the summer reading programs and have been inspired to read (have read too) thousands of books. (literally, 10 to 15 books per week, over the last 3...
