I was with this agent for quite a few years, and I'm sorry I didn't leave sooner. Conversations with Jeremy were awkward over that time, and there was never any rapport established. However, my rating is for two employees that I had a policy review with; Clint and Aaron, if I remember correctly.
State Farm, as a company, raised my auto insurance premium 24.6%. As an 8-year customer who has never had an accident or even a claim, I was understandably frustrated with this large increase. During the policy review, I asked for an explanation as to why the rate increased so much. I wanted to understand the justification for charging so much. Clint was potentially the worst person I could have asked, as he didn't display any traits of successful customer service. The only resemblance of an actual answer he provided was "Insurance is a pool" (which was repeated several times), and some comparison to the price of milk and eggs increasing. His responses were condescending and became increasingly aggressive in tone. This demeanor and attitude only made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. He had no intention of de-escalating the conversation, and remained abrasive and abrupt throughout.
I eventually responded by saying three other insurance companies I received quotes from were charging less, and he had completely given up at that point. He not only told me "I'm not going to waste my time anymore", but also told me to get out of his office.
Listening to frustrations and being able to empathize with customers is a valuable tool that can be utilized in a service role. Understanding and validating those frustrations help show that you care. Was I frustrated? Of course, but I was certainly not rude. I was not acting in a way that would ever warrant behavior or responses that I or any customer should ever receive. It was disappointing and appalling. This office needs to do better.
I have, since this interaction, switched my auto insurance to a completely different company (at a savings of over $200 per year). I wanted nothing to do with this particular office anymore, so I also moved homeowner's insurance to a different agent with State Farm in the area, and I've been enjoying the respect and treatment that she and her office provide. The difference is night and day.
I'll also add that this review is solely for this office, and not for State Farm as a company. I'm not giving one-star because of the rate increase, but, rather, for the treatment I...
Read moreDO NOT GET INSURANCE THRU THIS COMPANY!!!! I am trying to switch my current insurance due to rates constantly going up every renewal (esurance, 3yrs now with no accidents, tickets, etc) but Thanks to state farm my insurance rates are thru the roof and its because they faulted me on one accident in 2015 WHICH WAS NOT MY FAULT but they have it in the system as my fault but lets start before this accident. They have another accident on my report that wasnt my fault which it wasnt. I was in my apartment in my bed when my neighbor decided to back out the driveway like a bat outta hell and swiped my entire side of my car i didnt have to file a claim because thank god they had insurance so their insurance COVERED EVERYTHING but their insurance was state farm also so because state farm paid for it irregardless that it wasnt my fault they still put the accident on my record as no fault, Why its even on my report is beyond me but its still there saying at no fault though it shouldnt be on there PERIOD because the moron did $3,000.00 worth of damage while i was in bed. Now on to the second incident. Nov, 2015, thanks to the city of erie and their sloppy pick up, someone had left a nice decent size chunk of cement in the road. Now i had no choice but to try to dodge it due to a car next to me on my left side and a telephone pole on my left side. SO I WISH SOME ONE WOULD PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY I'M AT FAULT FOR TRYING TO DODGE THIS CEMENT BLOCK instead of hitting the car or the telephone pole, i did have to file a claim but they have me at fault. HOW AM I AT FAULT!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER DEAL WITH STATE FARM AND TRUST ME I TELL EVERYONE HOW THEY SCREWED ME IN THE LONG RUN TRYING TO GET INSURANCE, THANKS TO THIS COMPANY I CANT GET ANY INSURANCE FOR UNDER $350.00 A MONTH. I also do not understand why I'm even paying these companies to insure my vehicle only to punish me when i actually have to use it. I had never had any other accident before this incident except for 1 ticket back in 2006, I got hit for not wearing my seat belt but since 2001 when i got my license and started having insurance, 17yrs of driving and only 1 ticket and a accident that was not my fault and now my rates have doubled. Why have insurance if you're gonna get punished for using it or like this example, being with a company that filed paper work wrong and faulting me, when thats what I...
Read moreI was referred to this specific agent by a very close friend. My initial experience was quite good and they were very friendly. But once I was "in the door", the customer service dropped out of sight. Numerous times I was informed by a representative that I would be given a call in a set amount of time about a couple of concerns so I could have all the information. The first occurrence was supposed to have a call within a few days, which extended weeks and months. So instead of receiving a call from these friendly agents to get me information and clarification, I had to call them, a couple of times over many, many weeks. They called me in the midst of this to invite me to come in and meet the gentleman running the agency. I responded by telling them that if they could not take the few minutes out to follow up with the call they had stated they would, I would not consider expending my personal time for a meet and greet to people who have already shown that they are just looking for the initial sale and are completely uninterested afterwards. About a month and a half ago, I called in to get the information about what my rate change would be because an accident (Mother Nature stepping in to be in the way and cause harm) had already fallen off my record. I was informed that they would not know until mid-December, but that I would receive a call to share the change personally. I informed the representative that of my prior experience with their lack of customer service and he informed me that I would receive a call and he said he notated it on the account to make sure personally that it would happen. It is the beginning of the new year, well over 2 weeks past the representative's guarantee that I would receive a call. This NEVER happened. I did receive a document in the mail and on my app, but the personal attention and high customer service that they had stated would happen did not occur. As far as customer service, this agency has been one of the absolute worst experiences I have ever experienced. They make false statements about caring about the customer. If that had been the case, I would not be taking the time out to write this review. I am only giving 2 stars because they did basic things such as getting my policy started and my documents came to me in the mail, which probably is just because the corporate office is taking care of...
