This is an amazing experience. The tower is on the Purple transit stop, and so very nice to just take a ride up there and get dropped off. An incredible view from the top.

Pros: It only costs a $1 per person(in quarters), and there's a change machine on site if you don't have quarters on hand. Nice gift shop with nice staff/owners. On the Purple transit route. Not busy.

Cons: *The ENTRANCE GATE is not made for a person that has any weight on them! I'm a large framed person, and I had to figure out how to get through w/o calling the fire dept to use the jaws of life! No joke! Even a toothpick of a person has a hard time to squeeze through the entrance gate. Reason being is there are extra un-necessary bars. The entrance gate is also the exit. *The stairs are steep. *There are some days that it can get very windy towards the top. So hold on! *I personally don't suggest allowing children on this. *The side rails are made of angle iron and hog panels. So not easy to hold onto depending on your hand size, and short side rails. *There's no safety netting, no safety welded wire panels of any kind. *The steps and landings are all wood, which is fine, but there's a lot of weathered steps that are clearly broke in two now, and there's a lot of boards that have holes where knots in the wood were. Some boards have been replaced, but not enough IMO. *You must be in physical shape in order to climb it. It's a workout and you will feel it in your legs. *The stairs going up are okay, coming down them they feel like a steep ladder. *The landing on top is short side walls, so if you have kids watch them like a hawk.

I think that if the owners could put some safety precautions in place it would get more attention. Fix the entrance gate to make it more accommodating for 80% of social body...

This was a very last minute visit as we noticed it on our drive out of town. The tower is impressive! It's not for anyone who may suffer from acrophobia (fear of heights) but for those who enjoy a fun stair climb, this is worth the $1.00 per person climb! The stairs are made of wood and even though I'm 6'5' and 300lbs, I never had a concern about the stability of the stairs. They are strong and several have been replaced. The view at the top is spectacular! I was surprised that we couldn't see the Christ of the Ozarks statue though. I would suggest bringing your own binoculars because there is a quarter telescope up at the top but it is what it is. The only concern I had with the tower was the entrance gate. It is a rotating gate that is NOT made for large people. I almost could not squeeze through it but I was determined! There is a lot of grafitti on the top platform and there is only room for about four adults so keep that in my mind if you are traveling with a large group. I was told there is another tower similar to it at the other end of town but I did not go to that so I have nothing to say about it. If you are looking for a beautiful view of the hills of the Ozarks and part of Eureka Springs this is definitely worth the $1.00...

The Razorback Tower seems to be an old fire tower from back in the day. Now it's considered an observation tower for tourists. It is easy to get to being only feet from US Highway 62, behind the Razorback gift shop. They only charge $1 per person. You pay at the gate with quarters. The even have a dollar bill change machine, if you need quarters. The instructions are posted and seem easy to follow. Now the down sides. It's something like 100 foot high. So if you have an issue with hight, you may not like it either climbing the steps and/or up top. The stairs look steep and there is a lot of them. They do have flights and you could rest in between. But it will be a physical test of fitness. Keep in mind, even if you do make it up without much issue. You may wind up sore within a day or so. All things to keep in mind. But most semi fit people probably would not have an issue. I personally decided not to go up. I had my personal reasons why. But I felt it better not to go up. Everyone needs to assess their own situation as whether to climb those stairs or not. If you do climb and not have issues. The reward of grand views will probably bestow you. Which ever you...

While it might seem a little scary, there's plenty of fencing to keep you in. Lots of railings, and it looks like several of the boards were replaced recently. This tower is clearly bring taken care of frequently as apposed to other towers I've been to. I think this tower is safe enough to bring kids up as well if you're worried about that. View from the top is absolutely amazing. You can pay to look through the binoculars up there. It is really windy up there, so bring a jacket on a cool day. There's a small fee to go in - make sure to bring quarters. Had to insert my coins several times before it finally took them, so don't get too discouraged. There's a gift shop nearby that sells souvenirs and magnets. Overall, it was a thrilling experience and I would definitely go back again!
