Just got home from Jetty Island. Always a great time. Only pack what you don't mind carrying approx 1/4 mile across the island. Strollers and wagons can be difficult to pull/push through the sand. When the tide is way out adults should walk along the "streams" to get to the open water so they don't sink in the sand/mud up to their knees or more. Bring something to give yourself shade because there really is none on the beach. Sand toys for the kiddos is a must and LOTS of water to stay hydrated since there is no running water. Most importantly, the only bathroom is at the dock where you first arrive and they are NOT flushies (& only hand gel to clean hands) - again...no running water. Plan your bathroom trips accordingly since it's quite a distance from the beach on the west side...
