Boxcar Park is a great place to see people flying enormous kites, walking dogs, and exercising in the fresh air. It’s a great open space that is hardly ever crowded except occasionally when the city uses it for fun summer events. Boxcar is a beautiful place from which to see the Cascades on a clear day, and to watch sunsets to the accompaniment of Taps from the nearby Navy base. You can see the tops of the sails of wind surfers on the other side of Jetty Island, and speculate, if you had the bank account, which of the boats moored at the marina would you choose, and where would you go in it? Walk down over the Grand Avenue Park pedestrian bridge, or drive down and rejoice in the informal but ample parking. The city is doing more development at that part of the marina now, and I hope it brings this casual, windy, salty landmark to more people’s attention...

Laporte was charging everybody $2 to park no matter where it was in the whole Marina and they had a total of five porta potties or a couple of thousand people the one that was for wheelchair-bound people out of padlock on it and the public restrooms were all locked the port was called several times but they did nothing about it it seemed to the DF free people who run the port have nobody else's welfare in mind since they acquired you all that Kimberly-Clark property they think they are Gods now just watch the prices of the mortgage go up I can see that coming these people are nothing but capitalist with nobody else's...

I recently had the opportunity to visit Boxcar Park, and I must say, the view of the water is absolutely stunning. The tranquil waters and the scenic beauty make it a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

However, I was quite disappointed by the ongoing construction nearby. The noise and disruption from the construction work really detracted from the otherwise peaceful ambiance of the park. It's important to keep in mind that this construction may impact your visit, so if you're looking for a serene and quiet environment, you might want to check if the construction has been completed before...

Nice little hidden gem near Everett Marina. Directly overlooking the Olympic Peninsula and Jetty island. Sunsets are epic here as you can park within walking distance of water and see the sun go down. Currently, there is some construction going on which has some detours and reroute and the parking lot is a gravel one. Still, you can't beat the views and the park for sunset viewing. There is a public restroom and picnic tables. People come here for evening strolls, walk the dog, or spend evenings with families.

It's always nice to walk around the Everett waterfront. Expect to see lots of wildlife, especially birds and harbor seals. There are benches along the trail, restrooms in a few places, and a new playground near the jetty island ferry terminal. I like the decrepit old marina building on the sound end. It will be demolished soon. Go give it a look, if you like old buildings, rust, and peeling paint (as I do).
