This place is great! It's not often you can find a place that feels far from the city just a few minute boat ride away. Once on the island, besides the view of the Everett skyline, you are transported to a nature reserve full of sandy beaches, trails, and wildlife. No food vendors here so be prepared to pack all of your own items in (and out) and only one restroom is available by the dock. I saw some people with strollers and wagons and they seemed to struggle on the sandy paths so I would suggest bringing items you can carry.

We didn't expect to want to be there for long but after exploring, pushed our departure ferry time back to allow for more time to geocache and play in the sand.

We got on the first ferry over, which made the island not so crowded and gave us first pick of return times. Those complaining that they had to wait forever to get off the island must be deaf, blind, or both as the sign where you pick up your tickets to get to the island says to get your departure tickets upon arrival and they also told us twice on the way to make sure that is the first thing we do when we get to the island. Staff is informative and friendly.

If you are looking to get your kids and yourself away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind but don't want to drive hours to get there, this...

Always wanted to go here. Boat leaves at 11:45 got there at 11:25 got on the boat just fine no reservations. Saw a seal, pleasant boat ride. Get to the other side and they tell us to make reservations to get back on the boat. We see the boat leaves every 45 mins or so. Seems perfect we only wanted to stay an hour or 2. Talk to the person and they hand us tickets for 5:45! We had to stay on that island with just the lunch we brought and 2 water bottles for 6 hours! Never going again... it felt like we were prisoners. Waited in the stand by line for 2 hours trying to leave early and did not get on. This is a terrible place unless you are fully prepared to be trapped on a tiny island with nothing but a bathroom all day. They should be required to warn you before you board the boat. Had we known we could of prepared better for our...

This island is very pretty and I had a lot of fun exploring and looking at all of the different plant life. It is hard to escape the sunshine for a lot of the places on the island, but there is at least one really good shade tree that we found to sit under. We went for the float find and were unsuccessful. We enjoyed checking out the environment and plants and animals. We made a reservation for the ferry the day before and for one of our party we made the reservation on the same day. We arrived there a little bit early and so we stood in the standby lane and were able to go across before our reserved time. It was only five dollars a piece to go across plus tax. Some of the ferries coming back from the island got full, so we had to wait a little while from when we were ready to leave until we were actually...
