Hi,
Let me preface with the fact that we've been to Jumpity Bumpity 3-4 times prior to this event. We had a great time and normally I would give this place 5 stars. It's super clean in the play area, bathrooms are clean, and the kids have walked away with big smiles. It's perfect for kids 3 to 11, but is OK for age 2 as well, since there is a play area designated for that age group.
We were there yesterday, 7 Dec, for our sons 4th birthday party. We were the first ones there for the party room, and had decorations to put up. The Asian manager was VERY strict about "their policy" regarding the party room. I can appreciate people who follow rules, I get it being that I'm in the military and we have our own set of policies and procedures. But, let's use a little common sense here and be reasonable.
We arrived at 9:45 to set up because guests would be showing up at 10:00. I get the fact that the room normally isn't available for the first hour of the party; however, we were the first party of the day and there were no customers using it before us. What's the difference whether we set up at 10:00 or 11:00 since were the first ones using the room?
While we have a great time at this place, and we will be back since we have 2 small kids that enjoy it, we walked away feeling disappointed in our experience, and it all stemmed from the manager and how she handled the situation. I heard her talking to one of our guests, she said, to them, "I don't see you on our waiver list. Did you fill it out online?" "No" said our guests, "I didn't know we had to". The manager implied that they wouldn't be able to play then because they didn't fill put the waiver beforehand. My spouse had to intervene and ask the manager if there was a way they could fill it out there. It wasn't until that point that the manager pointed to the computer in the corner where they could fill out the waiver. Unbelievable. She made things difficult, when they should have been easy.
Employees are the face of the culture of an organziation, and they represent the company. She did a poor job of that, to the point that I'm spending my Sunday morning writing this long review about her. The Franchisee need a to retrain her, or find a new manager. Corporate needs to allow the first party of the day to set up early.
Think about this, Disney gets their customers to spend thousands of dollars at their place of business, yet everyone says, "I would go back!" Why? Because of the positive experience they have with everyine they meet. They go above and beyond to create high experiences so families will return or at a minimum, pass on their positive experience.
Finally, she was unpleasant, rigid, and didn't provide a positive customer experience. She added srress to something that was supposed to be stress free. Again, we walked away unhappy, which is not how we wanted to feel after we spent $280 on the birthday party for our son.
Therefore 3 stars for this particular experience. 5 for the play area and general setup. 1 star for the manager. That's reasonable,...
Read moreThe place and their structures are ok. Not very clean. I did not like the bathrooms are all the way to the end of the store. So you have to take off your shoes and go inside. You can borrow some slides to go to the bathroom but to me thats just gross. The bathrooms wherent clean either when I used them. Looks like they keep maintainance up because the only thing I saw broken was a ramp up type of thing because of use. They have a mini arcade room so thats nice but of course is kind of expensive. 40 tokens for $20 i believe and a little kid ride is 3 tokens. The air suction game room sucks. 😅 i should say doesnt suck. So the air is kind of weak so the balls take their time to ride up. The kids still enjoyed that anyway but Im guessing it needs a tuneup. The thing I completely disliked is a 17 year old, 16, 15, 14, 13 kid who doesnt want to play (is more for like kids 12 and under) still have to pay full price even if they are just sitting in the waiting area with you. (is also very tiny). So when you pay for them, and ask said teenager to go help a little sibbling, staff will come and tell your teenager (or they'll blast it on the microphone) that they arent allowed to play because is not designed for adults. When they explained they are teens and have a wristband they said "sorry is for kids only" so why are they being charged then? Is $18 per child for one hour. $20 for two hrs and so on. If you buy unlimited is not unlimited. Since in and out privileges are not allowed. So you cant come and go... weird on "unlimited" because we all know kids need food and snacks constantly. You want a water bottle? $2.50 soda? $3.45 i think. I took my grandbaby who is almost 2 and when helping her up (which is allowed for an adult to help a younger child, I read the rules) i got the constants "adults arent allowed in the structure" microphone announcements. We where pretty stressed out by the time we got out. Felt like a toddler myself being told no, no, no. Maybe they should read their own rules. 😅 if your baby is crawling they pay full price. Infants (im guessing around 5 months or less are free) but if they are moving, they are paying. Socks are about $2.50 and is gotta be their socks, regular socks arent permitted. My 8 and 6 year old did have fun, but my wallet didnt.
Parking (has nothing to do with the store but with the area itself is not great.) No shade anywhere and very smelly to human urine by the wall. Many windshield broken glass in the floor. So just for precaution dont leave anything visible in the car. Lots of crackheads around. I dont think we...
Read moreIt is the worst experience I've ever had! The staff (an Asian women, manager) was rude, dishonest, and fool consumers! The price list shows $12 for one-time play and $60 for five times, and I asked the staff if there any discount. The staff told me that there was a mistake in the price list. It was supposed to be $14 each time, so you still saved money. Okay, I accept it. She asked me to fill out the details of every child, including the nanny, I didn't want to because I only need to play and didn't need a birthday party. she told me: "it's the law!" I was confused, and I said the other play center didn't require that much information. she said: "that center is super dirty." I was uncomfortable about what she said( I don't need you to tell me where should I go! ), And the worst part is after I've spent 20 minutes filling out everyone's information, she told me I had to buy their socks to get in!(every one of us wore our socks!) I said you should let me know in advance. Otherwise, you're wasting my time. She replied: I forgot, if you don't want to buy, you can go!" By the way, no sign shows that you have to buy their socks. I can't believe such a disgusting thing! I felt cheated and fooled!...
