Starbread — Restaurant in Fairfield

I’m naturally a friendly and polite person, and I always try to greet people with kindness. I recently stopped by Starbread to buy some bread and, as usual, I greeted the staff with a smile and a “Good morning, how are you today?”

Unfortunately, the response I got from the lady at the counter (I believe her name was Carl) was quite disappointing. She just stared at me for a moment and then bluntly asked, “What do you want?” Surprised, I asked if I had said something wrong, and she replied, “If you’re gonna buy, buy. If not, leave.” I was genuinely taken aback. I gently reminded her that we should be kind and grateful for what we have. Her response? “There’s nothing to be happy about.”

I’ve had Senorita bread multiple times, there are multiple branches that sell this bread. I always buy it from the branch in Vallejo and it tastes how it’s supposed to taste fresh, buttery and sweet. This is my second time buying it from Fairfield location and both times I’ve been disappointed. They add salt to the bread and the taste of the salt is very dominant. Despite the fact that it has that sweet filling inside the amount of salt is so much that it masks the rest of the taste. Starbread has been around for such a long time. I grew up in Vallejo, so that was the first one I tried. Let me say, "YUMMY!" Butter, butter, butter!!
