F.O. Bailey Antiquarians — Attraction in Falmouth

I have had my eye on this gorgeous pie safe for a month and I finally bought it today at FO Bailey Antiquarians. I love this store, truly a place to find treasures. Today, however, they impressed me with their incredible customer service. I came to take it home and though I’d measured my car for depth I didn’t calculate width (rookie error). But Kelsey Gray was incredible—- she measured her car and since I live close and since her car wasn’t full of more treasures she offered to drop it off after work. We got it in the car with plenty of help and advice from staff and customers alike and my husband and I just unloaded it into the cellar. This is what buying local is all about. I saw an interesting magazine clipping that was for sale and the tag stated $20. When I went to check out, the lady at the register decided to call whomever was selling the item. She got off the phone, took my cash and before she was able to give me my change, received a call back stating the woman wanted to research the item before selling it because she thought she could get more for it. I wasn’t sure what to say at the time, I’ve never given someone money for something and had the transaction undone due to sellers regret at a reputable business. This felt more like a yard sale. A bit pricier than most antique shops I’ve visited but definitely worth the visit! Lots of nice quality items if you’re looking to spend big $$$ HOWEVER I was able to snag a couple of good finds, so it’s all about taking the time to look. One of the women running the shop was open to bargaining a better price for one of the items I was interested in, so that was a definite thumbs up for me!...
