I tried to buy bindings and have them mounted on new Shaggy's skis. When I went in with the skis in hand and told the guy that, he said he had to check on something. A couple minutes later he came back and said there would be $100 charge to mount them, even after buying the bindings from them. I asked why, and he said "that's what the owner said." So, I left, and will take all my business (I've spent thousands of dollars there over the years) elsewhere. Was odd because mounting bindings is something they would do very regularly, shouldn't be anything unusual about it. The fact that he had to go talk to the owner first makes me think they have something against Shaggy's for some reason. I called Boyne Country Sports, told them the make and model of ski, they will mount for $32. It's a longer drive, but they now have all of my...
Read moreI really have to say I was expecting a little bit more. I am certain the gentleman we had just wasn't as knowledgeable as other people there may be. I hear how wonderful they are and how they know everything about skiing. The person helping us was trying to be very helpful and tried to help us. I just felt like he didn't really know what he was talking about. They didn't have any of the ones I wanted in my size and instead of suggesting that he can order it for us. He just kind of like going down the line up styles and said here whatever you can take these, but their entire full size bigger than the ones over here but they'll still work. It was really strange and they didn't have have my boot size he wouldn't suggest ordering it was really odd. I just don't feel that we were helped at all it was just kind of really...
Read moreGreat selection, and most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only complaint that I have is an older woman. She was working the front register and could really use a refresher on some social manners and skills. On multiple occasions I have walked in and been belittled, talked to in a snarky manner, and almost yelled at. They also told us a pair of our bindings that we just wanted adjusted were so old that they couldn't do anything, and that our skis were so old that she might as well take us up into the show room and make us buy new skis. We left and went somewhere else and they adjusted them, no problems asked. These people need to rethink their approach when it comes to customers and some of these people shouldn't be working the front desk if they want customers to return and give...
