Wonderfully secluded nature park. Looks like time has stood still throughout the many trails. Definitely dog friendly although I would not suggest your dogs go in the creek. It's dark and murky and while I didn't see any alligators I certainly came across several colorful aquatic snakes. Not an expert but that usually means they may be poisonous. There is a playground as you first approached the trails and for the long one of the trails you can find shelters for cookouts.

A great walking trail and even a pretty good jogging trail but you better pick up your feet. Lots of roots make for lots of opportunities to take a fall.

Very secluded trail in an otherwise suburban area but just to be aware if you're...

About a week ago, the mother-in-law visited. We found ourselves at Jeffries Creek Park for a stroll, after visiting Bucee's.

The route we went wasn't a very long walk but the scenery is very pretty. It strolled through a forested trail, then along a water bank with a couple bridges that would take you to the other side. The park has a jungle gym and swings for kids as well as a covered area, big enough for a picnic with extended family.

There was another trail that we didn't take. I'm not sure how long that one is.

There are snakes at this park. We witnessed one in the middle of its feeding process. The wife isn't a fan of them but it kept the kids intrigued and amused...

I really wish they took care of this little park. It’s such a great hidden gem in Florence. It’s a lovely .5 mile loop along a creek. However all the bridges (like 5 of them) have rotten boards which is incredibly unsafe. The path is very rooty, so make sure you pay attention when you walk. I imagine when it was first opened, it was just perfect. The playground is half wrapped in caution tape and construction fence due to some broken pieces and it seems it’s been that way for a while. There is a lovely picnic area that is surrounded my water which we will be back to visit. C’mon Florence, fix...

My favorite local park! Jefferies Creek offers a soothing walk through beautiful bottomland forest with scenic overlooks of deep fishing holes and meandering creek beds. If you are the aquatic type take advantage of the convenient kayak/canoe launch and explore the creek from the water! Bring the kids for a romp on the playground, one of the only fully shaded playgrounds in the Florence park system! ( It is bottomland and creekside so bring bug spray in summer!)
