Devon Aire Park — Attraction in Florida

Dear Miami-Dade County Parks,

I am writing to express my concern about the condition of the basketball court at Devon Aire Park. During my recent visit, I witnessed a dangerously slippery court that poses a high risk for injuries due to poor maintenance. The surface is unsafe and too close to nature, leading to residue from trees that make the floor very slippery.

It is unfair to the kids who come to play basketball at your park to have to deal with these conditions that include a high risk of injury. The intensity of play at these courts is significantly reduced because players are afraid to get injured. It is essential to speak up about issues like this before someone gets hurt.

I am speaking up on behalf of these children to urge you to take action. I played at this park, and I know firsthand how unsafe this court is. The residue on the floor is slippery, slimy, wet, and highly dangerous for the youth.

Ignoring this issue can only lead to more problems in the future. Therefore, I am urging you to act and fix the basketball court or expect to deal with a possible lawsuit.

I had my daughter's 5th birthday at Devon Aire Park in early April 2025. Yamilette was my point of contact and she was extremely friendly and accommodating. We got the largest obstacle course I could find and I was worried it would be too big for the space but they made it work and were very polite and helpful to the company providing it. They helped us find a place to hang 2 pinatas at the park and were on top the bathrooms and trash for the duration of the party. 10/10...

I go to Devon Aire Park frequently and what I most like about the park that it’s very spacious and many people can be at the park but it doesn’t feel full. The park the majority of the time that I go it always starts to rain and at sometimes it could be a hazard to anyone who visits and the bathrooms aren’t the best the smell and preferably try not to use them besides that the park is very nice and you can see some beautiful sunsets which you can see...
