Killian Cafe & Grill — Restaurant in Florida

I'm relieved that I could rate the service separately from the food and atmosphere. We met another couple for breakfast; we had never been to this restaurant before. Our server was OUTSTANDING! She was very attentive, polite, and very efficient. Unfortunately, I wish that the other ratings of this restaurant would match.... first of all, we were seated in a booth and I immediately noticed that there was a tear in the vinyl near where I was sitting. Then, I started looking at the menu - that was a shocker! The prices were outrageous for the type of restaurant. To pay upwards of $16.00 for a simple breakfast just doesn't make sense to me unless I'm getting top quality food. I ordered two eggs over-medium, home fries, rye toast and coffee. The eggs and fries were okay (nothing special) and the rye toast was not crispy and only halfway toasted. My wife's bacon tasted "off" almost like plastic. All in all, it was a disappointing breakfast. There is another restaurant in the area that has homestyle breakfast at reasonable prices - and they've been in business for well over 50 years. I don't know if the prices are because of the cost of rent in the space, but I would expect much better quality for the prices that they charge. Again, I cannot have enough good things to say about the service. Not only was our server outstanding, but I also noticed that other servers were equally attentive. I doubt that I will ever return to this restaurant because of the average food at "superior...

We had such a terrible experience there. We called in advance to reserve a table and they said it wasn’t necessary because it was not packed, first mistake. We ended up waiting for thirty minutes, which isn’t so much of an issue if we wouldn’t have called, but we did. To make matters worse, they sat other families before us that had just the same number of parties as us. I asked why, their response was that they had kids (I showed them we had a toddler and a nine year old as well). They apologized and sat us another fifteen minutes later (yes now it’s taking 45 minutes). We sat down, didn’t approach us with water or taking orders until ANOTHER fifteen minutes. Once all orders were taken and brought, for some reason they forget my daughters meal and they didn’t bring it in until we had all Basically finished ours. Each of our party just shared with her their own plate because they kept forgetting her breakfast. I have never experienced such an awful customer service. The food was ok, I think we were all just starving at that point. What looked to be the manager approached us to apologize for a situation that was occurring at the time with another family that made some sort of scene, but didn’t even acknowledge the lack of customer service that was given to us. Such a shame too because it looks like they bring in a good amount...

I went to this place with a friend and my 2 year old baby, and the owner slammed the door super hard so a waitress could get out (while arguing) and hit my friend HARD in the arm, a minute later he comes out and starts cleaning the table next to us while arguing with another waitress. That's when we realized he had a bad attitude and that the door thing wasn't a simple accident, to which I went to tell him to be careful when opening the door because he hit my friend and almost hit my daughter, to which the super rude guy starts saying “no when was that, he was going to get the camera and my friend got upset when he was denying it and also argued with him, he kept arguing and then said "anja I hit you, what do you want me to do now"? And he left, the waitresses all apologized to us very embarrassed as if they were the ones. The man returned a few minutes later. He apparently checked the camera and was apologizing and saying he would refund us since we had already paid. In the end, he refunded my friend but not me.
