My wife and I visited here on Tuesday March 25, 2025. It's a very small place with mostly just a bunch of old donated artifacts from the late 1800s and early 1900s and the gentleman who was the attendant (a local area resident) didn't offer any kind of tour or information. It might be better if there was a knowledgeable docent on duty here, but it wasn't the case during our visit. The hours are very limited since it's staffed by volunteers, but it wasn't good enough inside for us to have planned it into our itinerary...
Read moreThis is a perfect compliment to Pine Island and the surrounding community. Pine Island, and Matlacha are unique small island communities with deep rich history. The museum is the small. It's small in size but holds much history and is obviously easy to navigate. While there is plenty to see here, an hour or two will probably satisfy you. There's no restaurant, but a small "gift shop" area has reasonably priced items. Inexpensive too, but suggest you check for times and prices in case they change...
