Cositas Bakery & Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Pine Island

We were exploring Bokeelia in Pine Island and came across this delightful Bakery and Cuban Coffee shop. Recently opened by run by cuban-americans (from Guanabacoa with which Pine Island has had decades of connection). The welcome was very warm, reminded me of the cafes in the neighbourhood of Vedado where I lived when I was a visiting professor at University of Havana. The coffee was feshly made and one of the best i have tasted in florida, surpassing Rickys Cafe or Pinecrest Bakery in Miami. Tastefully decorated exuding of an ambiance. I enjoyed talking to the couple and met their young daughter. Enjoy pastelitos of guava and guava/cheese. Took some home to give as gifts. I loved the coffee, it was definitely strong and good. My mom loved the guava pastries, and I very much enjoyed the toast. It was nice to go to and drive to a more florida feeling type of place. I was scared about parking since depending on where you are on the island it may be difficult but this parking here was free, and easy to get in and out of. Wish they had a phone number to order...

Please visit and support this wonderful bakery/cafe/restaurant!
