We were exploring Bokeelia in Pine Island and came across this delightful Bakery and Cuban Coffee shop. Recently opened by run by cuban-americans (from Guanabacoa with which Pine Island has had decades of connection). The welcome was very warm, reminded me of the cafes in the neighbourhood of Vedado where I lived when I was a visiting professor at University of Havana. The coffee was feshly made and one of the best i have tasted in florida, surpassing Rickys Cafe or Pinecrest Bakery in Miami. Tastefully decorated exuding of an ambiance. I enjoyed talking to the couple and met their young daughter. Enjoy pastelitos of guava and guava/cheese. Took some home to give as gifts. It was nice to go to and drive to a more florida feeling type of place.
