There are certain places on earth which possess a magic, a taming power of peace, harmony and freedom of spirit. Sanlando Park is such a place. I'll make my complaints well-known upfront, and you might confirm to disagree with me. I don't like "wilderness parks". To me, they are conveniences of absolutely thoughtless laziness. "Wild this" and "wild that" are not synonyms for uncontrolled brush and scrub with no effort to cultivate or beautify. So far, are you wondering why I gave the park 4-stars? It's worth four stars because there is a native energy here. There is magic in this park. I see Black, White, Asian, and every race of humanity coming together as if the news of the day wasn't. I see parents fearlessly with children, and groups of ethnic basketball players seamlessly enjoying their day with Wekiva Springs elite tennis players. This isn't your typical city park. The city makes efforts with working out equipment and instructions along the paths. The paths are well maintained but, like I've mentioned, it's not Disney, as it could be. I'm an idealist. I want it to be Disney. Although there are only native brush here, it isn't exactly unkept. Okay, well fine! It looks nice. There, I said it. Why can't people create fanciful gardens and statues and elegance? There is a peace spiritual center at the outside of the entrance. There are memorials in granite and steel under several of the donated trees. The place is joined to a nice, large baseball field. There's plenty of shade. I haven't seen anyone break the rules of social edicate here. No one fails to have their dog on a leash. I was there today and the HOTTEST man I've ever seen jogged by me shirtless...but, I digress. No, seriously. He was super fine! Blonde hair, smooth hard body, about 6', size 11 shoe....
Read moreThis facility has turned into a total joke now with the online booking system.
This place lets groups block time slots far into the future, and yet the general public can't book a court until the day before, which at that point there are no courts because the special groups block everything. Prior to the online booking system, there were always courts available when picking up the phone to call. Now with this online booking system since covid, it has become a total unfair mess. I know people in the area I hit with that are all solid 5.0 + players. Everyone is complaining about this place right now with no courts being available on the site.
This is a public facility being funded by tax payers. It is not a private facility. Get your act together Seminole...
Read moreGreat place to play tennis and excellent staff. Also easy access to the seminole wekiva trail ftom here. I would have gave it 5 stars but had my car recently broke into there along with another car. Surprisingly no one was surprised by this and I found out that they have break ins like that of several cars every few months but there have been no cameras or extra lights installed in parking lot ! Nor extra security to ensure this wouldnt happen again. The seminole county police were of little help and took there time getting to the scene and only fingerprinted after I insisted on both cars. I have played here for years and had no clue this was an issue. So do not leave any thing valuable ...
