Took my two dogs to the park to play and all of a sudden I see the two workers opening the back gate to mow the grass when there were 6 dogs in the park. I screamed across the field, my dogs will run away please close the gate. They continued to open the gate with no regard. We take our dogs to this park for the security that they can safely move around and play in a fenced area without running lose . This is why at the entrance we have 2 gates to enter to prevent dogs from getting lose. I finally leashed my dog in panic before he could escaped. I went up the worker getting ready to mow the grass and I asked him why the gates were open while dogs were in the park ,my dog will escape and I won't be able to catch him , before I could finish, he screamed at me in the middle of my sentence saying it's 1pm we have to mow get your dog out or he will runway. I told him the gate should not of been opened while dogs are in here and he again yelled at me pointing his finger telling me to leave the NOW!!! The city can't have workers who have no care for dogs working in thus park. As I got my dog and walked out he was throwing the chairs and buckets all over the place to mow the yard . When I got to the gate I looked at my watch and it was 102pm after all this happened. Rude workers the city...
Read moreTook my two dogs today to run rover in veterans park. I have been to a lot of dog parks in naples over the years but this one was very disappointing to say the least, grass was super tall, half the dog area was flooded (ground is all uneven), small breed area has no shelter, auto water bowl they have is all mildewie, water fountain does not work, benches to sit are full of mildew and all dirty (lack of maint.), 8 spots were muddy, only has 1 (3) ring thing for dogs to jump thru, only thing they had plenty of was poop bags and 3 trash cans that stunk like they haven't been maint. For weeks, the large dog area was a little bit more presentable but pretty much all same issues. For the area it's in parks and reac. should've done a better job and up keep should...
Read moreOur family loves this park! There are team sports like soccer, classes, day camps, a splash pad for the little kids, a playground for the older kids, tennis courts, volleyball courts, a running loop, bathrooms, grills, picnic tables, etc. Collier residents can also pick up their beach passes there (just bring your car registration). Only down side is that I-75 right there makes it pretty loud at times, but you kind of get used to it. Also, the canal by the soccer fields, lol, it's always full of balls. They get kicked in there and the players can't reach them. Such a waste, but what can you do? Right after school it's pretty busy, but our kids love it because they see...
