First let me start out by saying the service and staff are amazing. Our server was extremely bubbly, happy, and nice. We felt taken care of, and everyone seemed happy to be there.
The interior is very trendy Naples 'cool'. Electronic music bumping, reflective surfaces mixed with black and white angular decor. The best way to explain the initial vibe is it's the kind of place a ditzy white chick who says she "loves loves loves" sushi would tell you is a "must must must!"...it screams "were cool, because we have all the cool things!". It's honestly a little outputting.
The menu is extensive, ranging Japanese, thai and Peruvian. Lots of special sushi rolls with fun names covered in a lot of stuff. The prices are high, they obviously rely on seasonal guests more than locals. Thai food is for some reason expensive, and this place is no exception. I've seen pad thai range from 9 to 20 bucks, this place is smack in the middle at 14. Sush rolls range between 5 and 12 bucks, special rolls are all around 15 to 20. Their lunch specials are good value though. This is what we chose to do. I also ordered a thai tea.
The Thai tea was good to my liking (I don't like it overly sweet, I like more tea flavor), but might turn some people off for not being sweet enough.
The lunch special was a pick 2: one roll and one entree. I had the red curry lunch special with a hamachi and asparagus roll. My partner had pad thai and salmon cream cheese roll.
They serve it with soup or salad and we bothbchose the miso soup. Miso was good, and served with a crispy gyoza, a nice treat/touch.
The red curry was not bad, it was mild and basic in flavor, they are obviously using a purchased curry base, not making their own mix. This is not bad though, as I understand the need for consistency and ease. It just means it's not going to win any awards. It was a decent red curry. It came with egg fried rice, which I loved. Egg and rice are such a good combo that's hard to mess up. The roll was called the tanzana roll, and was decent. The hamachi was fresh, and the asparagus was a welcome crunch to the softness of the roll.
My partners salmon roll was called the JB roll, and was decent, a basic cream cheese and salmon roll. This, unfortunately, is where they go downhill conpletely...the pad thai was just bad. Not very sweet, overly eggy, overly greasy and very dark (a sign of a bottled pad thai sauce). If you're going to use a jarred sauce, at least doctor it up, because this just tasted like corn syrup (yet somehow not sweet at all) and egg. Very disappointing that a place that is thai fusion can't nail THE main thai dish....
An overall ok place, but they are very 'safe' as far as flavor is concerned, obviously to appeal to the less then exciting palates that Naples services. And the pad thai? Just dissapointing.... probably won't go back by choice, but if going out with friends/family and they want to go here, I wouldn't complain, and can find something to eat, but not something I would go out of my way to go to.
And I want to stress again how great the service staff was though. I just wish the food lived up to their...
Read moreIt's not very often that I take my time to review a restaurant... Usually it has to be really good or really really bad... Unfortunately this was not a good experience that prompted me to come here...I literally feel the need to warn people. We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and then we ordered the sushi and entree combo... As well as spring rolls. I didn't even try the chicken lettuce wraps due to the fact that they looked and smelled exactly like cat food... It was so repulsive .. it was the kind of thing that you could immediately tell would make you sick if you ate. It was absurd that they would serve something like that... and sending good back like that makes me feel uncomfortable to begin with. But still, I will send food back especially if it is that blatantly disgusting. She asked if I want something else and at that point absolutely no, I did not! I should mention we were literally the only people in the restaurant but I figured that was because it was kind of between lunch and dinner time.. Anyway... The dynamite roll with the Mongolian beef and brown rice combo... We really tried to like it. Both my son and I tasted it .. he is now physically ill! I'm not being dramatic or exaggerating he is actually sick right now!! I took two bites the first bite tasted bland and boring... But the second bite literally tasted like food that has spoiled. It had just the beginnings of that sour sickening taste when food spoils...We sent that back of course.. And at that point just asked for our check. we did eat the vegetable spring rolls. They tried to make us pay for everything. When I explained that I was not happy with that they would only give us 50% off of the entree because they claim we ate half of it! Whatever at that point I just wanted to get the hell out of there! So for two drinks two spring rolls and food that made us sick that we took maybe three bites total of I had to pay $30!! I wish I could go back in time and not have taken one bite of this food I don't even know why I tried it, I guess it's because I felt bad and I didn't want to be that person who complains about everything that they brought out... But there's no way around it... The food is dangerously bad DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!! IT IS SO FAR FROM ANYTHING THAT ANYBODY WOULD WANT TO PAY MONEY TO EAT!!! IT IS ABSURD... NEVER AGAIN! HANDS DOWN WORST RESTAURANT I THINK I'VE EVER BEEN...
Read moreHighly disappointed from ordering on their website which was suggested, dealing with a server when picking up my to go food, then no response from an email I sent them. This place needs better management or new ownership.
I ordered food to go for me and my wife after a long day of work. I ordered my wife the Teriyaki Salmon and myself a 8oz New York Strip.
After calling about a coupon I had, the voice prompts said to order online for faster service. I decided to order online. Ordering system isn’t really any good, no place to put the coupon, and also prices are higher on the site. My Wife’s Salmon is $30 at the restaurant and $35 on the website.
So I go to pickup my food and the server was rolling his eyes and saying they did not have a manager that could fix it that they would fix it tomorrow. I said that was fine, but wanted to snap a picture of the coupon and receipt so I had proof the server proceeded to roll his eyes again!
So I drive home with the food and after I get our food out to eat I cut into my NY Strip I ordered Med Rare to be past Well Done (See pictures below). I’m easy. If I order my Steak Med Rare and a place gives me Rare will either eat or put it on a Pan for 2 minutes to cook it up or it’s Medium I’ll just eat it without issues.
My wife ate her Salmon and within 30 minutes told me her stomach hurt badly and she said she was done ever eating at Komoon again.
So here I am two weeks later. No emailed response that my check was adjusted and or no email back apologizing for the messed up Steak. I could care less if they offered me a deeper discount or free meal as a replacement, I’m more pissed there is no acknowledgment and or accountability by the management or...
