We decided to explore this trail on a weekend away on Vilano beach. Walking to restaurants by the pier, we passed up this trail. At first glance it really looks optimal for a beautiful nature walk, however there are a few things to note. There was a homeless man who "lives around there" that we noted to congregate at the bus stop, which is at the opening of the trail walk ( nothing crazy but enough to put your guards up), then as you proceed on the trail and turn a corner under the bridge, there are more beer bottles than you care to count floating in the water. It was very disappointing and sad to see the decaying shirts, and floating beer bottles along the trail. Also, it's not really a trail....it's more like a quick detour to the other side of the bridge, it took less than 3 minutes to make it through, and then you just end up across the street from where you started. It was disappointing, but some points of the trail did yield some beautiful...
Read moreThis nature walk had so much potential if not for its very short distance. You can walk from end to end in about 5 minutes if taking a leisurely stroll. It is more of a thoroughfare to take you under the bridge from one side to the other. If you are looking for somewhere to cover more distance, this is not the place to do it. Also, though it is pet friendly, the wood is painted and splintering along the center where the majority if foot traffic is present, so keeo an eye out for possible splinters. That said, we saw turtles and birds but also quite a few tossed beer cans and bottles, which...
Read moreThis free art boardwalk trail was a pleasant surprise and served to function as a nature trail and a safe walkway under the busy bridge intersection to the nearby residential areas. Along my journey, I experienced the marsh with no sound, only beautiful colors surrounded by nature. I stopped, closed my eyes and pictured the tile art with no sight and touched the surfaces to imagine what I would perceive if I was blind. What a beautiful tribute to the children at the school for the blind and deaf. A 5 star experience if you travel it with the heart ❤️ of a child with...
