Best part. It’s right down the street from the hotels so it’s easy to get too. Don’t have to grab your car from valet and all that. The food tasted pretty alright! But…it wasn’t what we expected lol. Update 4/11 22:51 : after further deliberation. Yeah , that wasn’t it. I’m not sure what the idea for that was exactly, if they wanted to make a calzone that’s cool! Just make a calzone. This was really just a mess all around. I could’ve scooped out the ingredients inside and made a sandwich out of it instead. It was not a fun experience. Do not recommend getting this one at all. Just ask for a regular pepperoni pizza and make sure it’s not whatever the “Stuffed Meat” was. That wasn’t it, chief. I saw the vision and I hated it. ———————- Original review Best part. We got the stuffed meat and description just said (Pepperoni, sausage, ham, meatball, prosciutto, extra cheese. (marinara on the side) pretty standard right? Well, turns out this was a pizza that was halfway to being a calzone without the commitment lol. I saw the vision, but the pizza was unwieldy, heavy and fell apart almost immediately. It’s incredibly messy to go through and the marina sauce was extremely thick and chunky. It tasted just fine…but it was a lot to go through and again. Not what we expected. If you want a traditional pizza, do not choose the stuffed meat lmao. We are two slices and a half and called it a day. It was a lot lol

I am prefacing my review with “taste is subjective.” I love to review restaurants and especially when I find a hidden gem but this is not that. Overpriced, over cooked, overly breaded, underwhelming, I love great Italian food and seafood but again this was not it. We ordered the spicy shrimp, mozzarella caprese and fried mozzarella for appetizers. The shrimp were heavily breaded and looked much larger that they actually were. The spicy sauce was good but that was it. Mozzarella in the Caprese dish was very dry. The fried mozzarella was okay but it was served with a cold tomato thick substance and not marinara. Entrees: rib-eye steak, 180 chicken tacos, grouper, chicken piccata, cheese pizza and spaghetti with butter for the grandkids. The okay—spaghetti, tacos, grouper. Steak was overcooked, broccoli was frozen, fries were super dry. Chicken piccata was AWFUL. No lemon was detected, the chicken was heavily floured and rubbery. Capers had no flavor. Pizza was okay. Thick heavy sauce and very thin crunchy dough. I do not recommend this and the prices are on par with Disney. Also, beer and wine only not full bar. No ambiance. Old tables and very uncomfortable chairs, tables were sticky. No AC just fans, or that is what it appeared to be.

This is definitely a must try for locals and anyone traveling through Saint Augustine, FL. I was completely blown away by the service and quality of the food. At first glance you wouldn’t expect the dining experience that waits for you inside, given the exterior of this restaurant. Me and my family decided on sitting at the bar to kick off the excitement. I would go as far as saying, the best seats in the house. the atmosphere engulf you and puts you right in the mix, awesome. Normally we like to be nestled away somewhere where it’s quiet and peaceful. Now the star of the show. The food was amazing and fresh! Everything we seen coming out of the kitchen looked incredible. We order the spicy shrimp appetizer, shrimp scampi, stuffed pizza and chicken parmigiana! Some of the best food and dining experience we’ve all in had in a long time. Thank you to the staff and chefs for an amazing experience.

So, I have thought about what review I would leave for a while. It may not be flattering for some so here goes...

We decided to eat here because of the reviews and looking at the online menu everything looked good. On arrival we were seated in the front of the restaurant by ourselves. We had a party of 8.

Our server seemed to be split between us and a table in the back, we sat for several minutes before drinks were ordered, appetizers were delivered and some silverware was not yet available. (We were told it was being washed)

The place was a bit musty but it is almost on The beach and the building was old.

My mother asked for tea after ordering water, others noticed the off taste in soft drinks and tea and mentioned it to the server, we were told "welcome to Florida".

I have spent over 40 of my 51 years in Florida, the drinks served were horrible, not city water chlorinated, it just tastes bad, just like the comments left a bad taste in my mouth.

On to the food, it was delivered hot and in a reasonable time, we were told that this was the last night the place was open before a 2 week closure for the holidays, that may explain the general hostility...

So, everyone got their food. I ordered scallops Carbonara, for I think $19.00? Well what I got was a plate of linguine a wonderful white sauce topped with, wait for it, 3 scallops cut in half arranged on my plate. I was so underwhelmed I didn't even complain, probably expecting some comment about, they are closing tomorrow or that that is how scallops are.

A picture of my plate was uploaded the night we ate, if you think I am joking.

I came in expecting one thing and by the time we finished eating everyone was ready to go as fast as possible due to the attitude and attention of the...

PLEASE READ! I do not often post reviews BUT the ENTIRE STAFF, from the chef to our hostess and server were the BEST! Our evening started off badly. Was July 5th and almost no one was open for a nice dinner due to the holiday. Our evening started off 20 min away at another local favorite, Poppys, but we were turned away at 810pm despite closing at 9pm. We were NOT A BIG PARTY. JUST A 2 TOP and were told the manager had just said no more tables. We do not get out much due to full time caregiving for our parents with dementia and a younger brother with cancer. So we hopped in the car and drove another 20 min away to 180 VILANO GRILL honestly expecting to be turned away. (We arrived st 840) I too am a manager and bartender of 38 years and would have accommodated a 2 TOP EXACTLY THE WAY THE STAFF AT VILANO GRILL DID!!! I can fully understand a cut off 30 min prior to close but I too still have checkouts and cleanup to perform. Again, we were not a party, just 2 hungry people looking for a nice meal. The server not only took our order but offered appetizers and side salads despite our late arrival. Never making us feel rushed. Our food was EXCELLENT ( ty chef) and we were in and out in the same amount of time had Poppys accommodated us. In the future, the manager of Poppys should take notes from the staff of 180 VILANO GRILL on how to use DISCRETION AND COMMON SENSE WHEN ACCOMADING LATE NIGHT DINERS! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND VILANO TO BOTH LOCALS AND TOURISTS!!! Food can sometimes be forgiven with a great staff! But everything was spot on at VILANO! A sincere Thank you to all who worked last night! We...
