I visited several trail systems in and around the north Dallas area and this was the best set of trails I came across. Varying degrees of difficulty and multiple distance options. I rode loops #1-4, which are beginner to intermediate with only a few advanced sections. Loops #5-8 are for more experienced riders, from what I have heard and read.

I visited twice, starting from Simmons drive all the way to the Rockledge Dr. parking lot and back in this order - loops 2, 3 4 them loop 1 at the end - approximately 11 miles. Some areas of the trail are very hot due to lack of tree shade, especially during Texas summers. Also there are some sandy areas so don’t wipeout turning through those.

Excellent flow, mix of wide and narrow, shaded and open areas, singletrack, tight turns, bridges, creeks, couple of large rock drops and a couple of short, challenging climbs. Gorgeous scenery overlooking the water in multiple places. highly recommended.

DORBA’s site lists additional trails that I visited multiple times.

Located in Flower Mound Texas this is a great Trail for mountain biking jogging or walking.

What started off as a dirt bike trail back in the day now is a great place for joggers Walkers and bikers.

This Trail is maintained by dorba. Please access dorba Trails by Googling it for the status of the trail. Please do not use the trail if closed, which usually happens after it has rained. Using the trail when it's wet causes undue stress for the local environment and also can rut the trail making it dangerous for people using it.

Also please be sure to leash your dogs on the trail that is a requirement and pick up waste.

Trail is one way use only both pedestrians and bikers go the same way so bikers please be careful for Walkers or joggers they're going the same direction as you.

So go visit North Shore Trail in Flower Mound and please adhere to the rules and park where you should Park.

The trail offers at great bit of scenery and a variety of...

I would like to rate it lower for one particular reason, the trail is only one way and for a casual walker a very long one way. There are very few intersecting points where you can cross back over to the other side. Another reason I would like to rate it a bit lower is because of some narrow sequence parts of the path where bike go down at a higher rate of speed along blind spots for the walker.

In would like to rate it lower but simply cannot. The trail is long, yes, but beautiful and well maintained and clean. The bikers were plentiful but nearly all perfect and courteous. This is a wonderful asset for our...

EDIT: there is a trail that connects to murell park.. this is 1.5 hours away from Northshore trail. Please be cautious. This trail is hidden in a neighborhood behind some houses. There is parking. This is not an easy trail, there are a lot of up and down areas and some areas that are not smooth. however being a lover of trails and hiking this was perfect for me and my adventurous children. There are a couple of beautiful view points. !!This is mainly a BIKE TRAIL, please be aware of the bikers, they ride fast thru the trail!!! No restrooms located in this area. some areas do have trash as people are prone to litter.

We had a very refreshing trekking through the woods this morning. The trail is very nice and we'll maintained. Not difficult at all. Initially we took the shorter trail (loop 1), and it was finished by one hour. Then we took a longer one, and we ended up walking for over 7 miles in 3 hours. This was my first time on this trail. But I think I'm going to do this over and over again in coming days. Loved the silence of the nature and the other trekkers on the trail were also very friendly. The marks on the trail are so nice that no-one can get lost in there.
