Let me start by saying that the food here is actually very good. I was not unhappy with the food or how fast the food came out.
I chose to have my birthday party here after a friend recommended it. I had never been here before and Thai food is my favorite.
I called and made a reservation two weeks ago to have my party here and I’ve gotten numerous text messages as a Reminder and an email reminder. So my reservation was for sure confirmed.
The day of my party I received a call and the woman I spoke to said she didn’t see me on the list but she would put me down. She then told me she would have to split my group in multiple tables. Which is not ideal but I accepted this as it was not something I could change now a few hours before a party. It would have been good business to let me know when I was making the reservation.
We get to the restaurant and it’s a cute little place, but the staff was disorganized. The seating arrangement they made was one main table and a little island table off in the corner. I had already told them it was just my one ten year old coming, but they made a kids table apparently. Three of my guests had to sit someone else and I really didn’t get to speak to them at all.
The next few “policies” are why I will not be going back.
They took over 30 minutes to even get our drink order. Three of my friends had already asked to get drinks off happy hour but when they finally were willing to take our orders. Happy hour had passed. It was a curt “ no that’s over now.” It was not our fault they did not want to do orders yet event all but three people had been there.
The restaurant saw my birthday cake and told me they would charge me a “cutting fee” of $2.00 A PERSON for me to eat my own birthday cake unless we bought dessert. WHAT? You want to charge me to eat my own birthday cake that I paid for? Like come on.
The main waitress then said it was too much work and would take too long to split our checks individually and wanted to do a max of 5 or all on one check and put the cost all evenly. Absolutely not. The restaurant was not full, not even close. And there’s only about 15 tables total only my fifteen guests including me and maybe 3 tables for the entire restaurant. She just didn’t want to split the check.
I got my check after dinner and there is a 20% gratuity already added to each check for parties over 5. I don’t have an issue with this. I do have an issue when I ask her to clarify the gratuity is included on my check that she straight up went “ yes but I’d appreciate more”. I understand wanting a bigger tip and normally I do, but it was not appropriate.
There were little things that were rude and frustrating but that’s fine.
If you’re a small party and want great Thai food, go here. If you want to bring them business or have a party over 5 people. I would not recommend.
The location and food are great, but some of the service just really turned me off. The reviews on google are high but on yelp...
Read moreI ordered through DoorDash so I don’t know who to blame but most likely it’s the restaurant’s fault. I ordered their duck noodle soup, Shirley Temple drink, crispy spring rolls and lump crab dumplings. First off this is my first time ordering from them ever! And it will be my last! The box that the duck meat came in had fried duck meat instead of roasted duck meat like the menu indicates. On DoorDash the duck noodle soup comes with ROASTED DUCK BREAST MEAT NOT FREAKING FRIED!!! It said duck breast meat not freaking leg and mystery parts like I got!!! Second, why was there a freaking bug right on top of my bok choy as soon as you open the freakin box!!! I know they saw that freaking bug!!!! Shirley Temple had almost no ice cause it melted making it watered down and horrible! The freaking lump crab dumplings were PORK not CRAB as I ordered! If I wanted nasty pork dumplings I would have ordered them I wanted CRAB!!!! Lastly, the freaking box was greasy makes me think I got somebody’s trash! The spring rolls were mushy not crunchy! This was some leftover or an order not picked up or simply trash!!!! It was definitely not fresh nor presentable! Bugs in my food is UNACCEPTABLE!!! Plus the portions were small and measly. Trash for over $50! Freaking Trash! They lucky they refunded my money. I’m done ordering out in the DFW! I don’t know how these restaurants are getting away with charging an arm and a leg for this tasteless noncaring Food! Any fool know you don’t fry duck meat! Duck meat barely got meat. It’s mostly fat! You savor the meat by roasting it! Not freaking frying it! Duck is not cheap! You ruined the meat frying it! I spoke to the manager. He tried to play crazy on me but I’m a little bit more crazy. So he contacted DoorDash and they refunded my money fully! I do not recommend this restaurant and I will never order from them nor eat in person ever again! In fact, I’m done giving these trifling restaurants my hard earned money. It’s ridiculous what they charge for food and it’s crazy we allow them to do it! Texas needs a food wake up call cause all this food around here especially the Chinese Food is Nasty, Tasteless, and plain horrible! Plus you get lousy customer service and bugs in your food! Where are the health inspectors around...
Read moreOverpriced disappointment! This place is trying so hard to be upscale, it forgot the basics… like flavor, freshness, and customer service.
We ordered a parade of appetizers: emerald dumplings, veg dumplings, and a papaya salad that looked like it had been crying in soy sauce for hours. And yes — there were tomatoes in the papaya salad. Unclear if this was innovation or sabotage.
Drinks? Served in dramatic glassware — well, the alcoholic ones at least. The mocktail came in something so dull, I half expected a juice box. Because nothing says “we care about your experience” like putting zero effort into your non-alcoholic guests.
The entrées? Phuket island, crab crispy noodles, salmon panang, and veg pad thai. The salmon arrived already defeated — possibly not fresh, definitely poorly cooked, and entirely unfit for human consumption. We politely sent it back, assuming any decent establishment would take it off the bill. But no — they charged us full price for the plate we returned.
Service was… absent. We were the only people in the restaurant, yet still had to work for their attention. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any more absurd, they tacked on an 18% service charge. For what? Breathing?
