What an awful and awkward experience for our birthday party. The host seemed like a nice guy but had no business being a host. I think they were understaffed and he was overwhelmed. I had to prompt him to do every little thing. I arrived 20 minutes early expecting to set up my cake and a few decorations that I brought and thinking the host would take care of the rest of the setup like other places I'd been. I had a large party so I spent extra money to get the private room. He set out plates, napkins, and table runner and that was it. He was off to assist with another party. I was told there would be balloons. He did not bring the balloons until 1.5 hours into the party after pizza and cake had been served and just awkwardly handed them to me. All my guests arrived and we were just standing around not sure what to do and had to track down the host to get our wrist bands so we could go jump. The kids enjoyed jumping although there were lots of accidents with other kids running all over the place and I only recall seeing a monitor at one location a couple times and I'm pretty sure it was our host doing double duty. When pizza arrived we went back to the room and there was no water so we had to ask for that. When he finally got the water, I had to ask him if he was going to serve the pizza to all the anxiously awaiting kids. (Other places I've been had the food and drink ready to go as kids came back from their activities so it's very seamless and an efficient use of the limited time.) He said he had to go get gloves. Why hadn't he thought of that while he was getting the water? By the time he got back with gloves we had already served the kids. So then I thought I'd better prompt him to get ready to serve cake and said we needed a knife and forks. He came back with an industrial size box of forks and just handed them to me. Really?!! Then went back to find a knife. So glad I had brought a lighter for the candle with me or that would have been another trip for him to take. The cake cutting was really painful. I assumed he would help with that and he just looked at me like a deer in the headlights and then just stared at the cake like he didn't know what to do. So I helped him cut the cake and my family jumped in to help serve it. If I'd known I'd be hosting the party, I would have just done it in the comfort of my own home. All I really got for the cost of this party was about 45 minutes of jumping and a very awkward and embarrassing experience and didn't get an opportunity to enjoy my son's birthday party with him. I will not be back to Urban Air and am confounded as to why they were supposedly voted a top place to have a birthday party. I would absolutely not...
Read moreFirst of all I think some of these reviews are fake- no way it could have so many 5 stars. I think this place has potential if they hire adults who care about children. We spent hours there and noticed the staff is REALLY young, inexperienced. While my son was on the rock climbing section there were 3 teens “working” but they were standing off to the corner chatting with no view of the children climbing. I noticed my son having a difficult time removing the clip to move on to the next section, another boy helped him out. I let it slide. Then it happened again, this time after watching my son struggle for a few minutes I decided to tell them - “my kid needs help”. I didn’t say anything at first because I wanted to see if ANY of the 3 employees would take a break from talking and at least check in on the kids climbing the walls. But no, I had to interrupt their very important teenage conversation to get their attention to help my son who couldn’t remove the clip. Imagine if he were stuck at the top and couldn’t get down?? Moms, don’t ever leave your kid unattended there. Fast forward to today- I just learned today that a classmate of my kids was seriously injured because he fell from the top after telling the teenage employee he’s coming down- some how the guy didn’t hear him, walked off to chat, was not paying attention- not sure exactly because I wasn’t there. But after my experience I am not surprised this happened, you don’t hire kids to oversee these types of jobs. The child is in the hospital with broken ribs and a punctured lung. I am so sad this happened and I hope he recovers. Shame on urban air for hiring kids to manage jobs they absolutely have no business doing. They hire them because they’re cheaper, but look what happened!! They should be working behind the registers, cleaning or doing something else, not working at the Rockwall or any section that requires ADULT supervision. Also- while I’m here- I paid $10 for a 30 min massage chair, towards the end of the day they vacuum, the girl unplugged the chair I was sitting in to plug in the vacuum and I told her I wasn’t finished, I still had 15 minutes left. She literally said there’s nothing she can do about it. I don’t care about that because I was ready to leave , but here’s my point- If they don’t care to fix a simple issue such as accidentally unplugging the massage chair that still has paid time, why would they care about anything else? Don’t trust them with your kids, be there and always keep an eye on them. I hope they make changes because overall it’s a nice place, kids have fun. But it’s not safe either because you can’t have staff who doesn’t care and offers...
Read moreThis review is for the parent's night out event that took place on 2/11/17. This was a total FAIL on Urban Air part!! First of all, parent's night out usually is in a secure place that is NOT open to the public at the same time!! Signed my girls in for the 7pm time and was feeling uncomfortable that this was not closed to the public! I was given a tickets and told that I will not be able to leave with my children at the end of the night unless I have these tickets!! What a joke! Nobody was checking tickets at the door! It was open to the public! People were coming in and out! This was no different then if I had dropped them off to jump on any night/day, and later returned to pick them up!!! Of course the sign up online, states there is NO REFUNDS!!! Now I know why they put that!! I returned early, cutting my "parent night out" short, only to see an officer walking up to the door to speak with a lady. I go inside and a few minutes later 2 more officers walk in. Apparently there was a fight that broke out between 2 boys at the dodgeball that the manager nor staff was even aware of!!! Why? Well, they were short staff according to the manager!!! As I sat there from 9:30-10:45, I watched parents come in with their red ticket in hand and leave with their children either with the ticket still in their hand or put it on the counter as they walked out!!! While the police were there conducting their 45 minute investigation of the incident, there were only 3 staff and a manger working. Not a single staff was up in the jumping area with the children! They were busy in the lower portion cleaning up the place! They also had a movie room that was off in the corner in a closed dark room that was not being attended by staff!!! Let me remind you this place was OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!!! This was the WORST parent night out in terms of SAFETY I have EVER experienced!! I paid $48 dollars ( for 2) for 4hrs of an UNSAFE place for my children!!! They allow children starting a first grade to attend this event!!! WHAT!!! I would not think about leaving my 6/7 year old at a place open to the public which is short on staff and not secured!! My girls are 9 & 11 and I felt uncomfortable!! PARENTS BEWARE!!! It is obvious that this Urban Air is only interested in MONEY and NOT THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILDREN!!! You want to know how I left with my children?? I set my red tickets on the counter as the manager was busy helping someone else. We walked out!! He had NO CLUE I was leaving with these kids!! HOW IS THAT FOR A...
