We just finished our first year at Next Step, so I wanted to provide an honest review. My daughter was a Junior DCC. Her teachers were Ashley and Kat, both former DCC, and we had an incredible and fun experience.
Not only did my daughter attend weekly classes, but she also performed regularly at weekend gigs such as a Rough Rider's game and Christmas at The Star. We were even in the Dallas Christmas parade, which was my absolute favorite experience.
To be in the Jr DCC class, we paid a monthly fee of $115 plus $30 each performance, but the performances are all optional. The girls would learn a dance in class and perform it for the community. We went to a Frisco basketball game, something we'd never experienced, at the Comerica center, performed on draft day at The Star, and danced at the Frisco fresh market.
Each girl bought their costume and got to keep it. They really looked like mini DCC, and the teachers would always have them announced as the up and coming DCC class, which was super cute and made them feel so special.
The teachers, Kat and Ashley, were top-notch. I can't say enough positive things about them, and yes, Kat is actually prettier in person than she is on the Netflix show. It was so cool for my daughter to watch America's Sweethearts on Netflix and then attend a class taught by one of the show's stars.
There's an end of year revue. We'd been a part of another dance school, and that recital was grueling. It was a four hour rehearsal on Saturday followed by a four hour performance day on Sunday. I thought that was just how recitals went. We attended Next Step's revue today, and there was no rehearsal the day before. It started and ended on time, went for only two hours, and was a professional production. I was floored at the difference.
In summary, I recommend Next Step. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best dance school in Frisco and 100% worth the money. We will continue to dance with Next Step and can't wait for another season...
Read moreWe love Next Step! My daughter is currently in her second year there, and she canât wait to go to her classes twice a week! Iâm constantly impressed at how well the teachers calmly maintain order in their classrooms and get young children to learn dance and tumbling movement and choreography. The teachers have a great mix of kindness, fun, and firmnessâtheyâve been great for my daughter.
From the moment we toured the studio, I have been impressed with how caring and communicative the staff is. We receive emails, newsletters, and Facebook reminders about upcoming events and things going on at the studio. They do a great job keeping the facility clean, as well.
I was nervous about my daughterâs first recital, last year, but everything went SO smoothly and it was so entertaining to watch! My family and I were very impressed by everything. We LOVED my daughterâs costumes, too!
There have been some times when my daughter has interacted with older students, and I have to say, the older kids have been SO GOOD with her!
Iâve also taken some adult classes, and the instructors have been awesome! We have fun in class, while learning and getting a workout.
It does get crowded in the lobby in the evenings, but the studio recently added more, seating, so hopefully, that will help.
I will continue to recommend Next Step to my friendsâwe plan to be there for...
Read moreThere are so many studios owned by amazing women in the area. Even if you have to drive a little further, or out of your way, it will be worth it. Skip this one. Avoid getting a text every weekend to plan ahead to not be able to find parking easily. Avoid a parking garage filled with cars stopped and blocking the entrance just because they are waiting on their kids, and then others cars speeding around as if there arenât children everywhere. Avoid overhearing a group of moms complain about the dance company every weekend. Avoid the awful benches. Really really awful benches. Avoid the overcrowded lobby. Avoid the dismissive and messy front office staff. Avoid the feeling of being just a $ to them. Seriously, give your hard earned money to anyone/anywhere else. It's such an investment in your kiddos life to choose which studio you associate them with. There are lots of studio that are worth it/deserve it. This is not...
