The bed is comfortable enough, the linens are clean but you can get that most places. This area has many hotels and resorts, keep looking.
Imagine showing up on the beach at the resort you just booked for 4 days to discover there are no beach chairs. No loungers. Well, there is but you're going to pay either $52 per day or $65 per day. Depends who serves you. One day I paid 52.00 the next day 62.00 and then another day 65.00
Yes, you must pay to use their beach chairs, loungers, umbrellas. And they're old and ratty on top of that. Never in my life have I been to a resort and had to pay to sit at the beach.
The boys that run the jet ski and chair rental play all day, boogie board, spear fish, ride the jet skis, ride a 4 wheeler up and down. We watched 4 of them horsing around while people arrive and look perplexed at the stack of chairs and start to help themselves and that's when one of the boys would come over.
They rented skis on a day the water was too rough. Inexperienced guest couldn't control the jet skis and were just mere feet from swimmers. One being my husband. When I said to one of them, don't you think it's too rough to have guest on these things? He said well maybe you shouldn't be swimming.
My guess, that jet ski chair rental business isn't affiliated with the resort so they could care less if resort guest can swim without fear of getting hit by a jet ski or enjoy the beach. They're there to make money. Just a hunch I have. Whatever the case, it's ruining what could be a great place.
Because we had a late flight I asked the day before if we could check out the next day at 5pm. The lady at the desk said, "anything before 4pm you won't be charged but after 4pm they will charge, just come in the morning and they will tell you how much". The next morning I thought for one hour I can make that work. I ask to check out at 4pm. The gentleman says it's $100 plus tax. I tell him what the lady told me the day before, he says no that's wrong. So, I paid the money. It wasn't about the money. I have a big problem with inconsistency in a place of business.
Breakfast is the only time we used the restaurant. And for 2 eggs, one slice of toast and 2 slices of bacon for 2 people with 2 coffee, the cost was $70.00 The food was okay, like what you would get at a corner café for 9.99 a person.
As for staff, they're not suited for "hospitality". No smiles, no good morning, good afternoon, no exchange of any kind. Out of 4 days the only front desk member that was pleasant was Barry. He helped me arrange the late check out and when I did check out was very pleasant. The rest weren't unpleasant just indifferent. They could really care less if you're enjoying your stay. The valet guys were nice.
