What a beautiful day to walk to local shops and restaurants, only it didn't go so well. Stopped back in on my way back from the grocery store to the NY Deli on A1A and the Galt Mile, because it was busy on my first pass. Came in, sat down, was not busy, and plenty of wait staff. NO one came by at least for drinks or to take my order within the first 20 minutes. Other tables came in about 10 minutes after I did. There were plenty of wait staff walking around, and one actually asked me if anyone came by, which I said no and that was the end of that. Another 5 minutes, and I was getting up to leave when a guy strolled over to ask for drinks and without a menu in hand, so I just said I'm ready to order. Order placed and water finally came to my table. A very simple order, nothing fancy. Still sitting, didn't bring silverware or napkins, nor did he wipe the table from the previous customer, wasn't horrible, but would have been nice. Sat and amused myself for the next 25 minutes, having surrounding tables shaking their heads as we all saw others coming in after me in the restaurant, and received their food. Finally I had enough, and got up and left, no food and still hungry. I wasn't going to let this ruin my day, because of a waiter that just didn't give a damn. Ended up stopping by McDonalds for egg burrito. Satisfied and just sharing this. Maybe they'll get the message and stay on top of things. I'm a year round resident, and they're NOT busy during off season. It's managements fault or lack of a manager for not paying attention to...
Read moreMy friends frequently make inquiry of whether I have dined at NY Deli when visiting Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The answer was always "no" as the deli itself was a bit out of the way.
On the day the "water went out" citywide due to a water main break, my daughter and I stopped into the NY Deli for breakfast. We were leaving Broward County a day early and making our way back to Vero Beach.
Homemade corned beef hash, 2 large over easy eggs, home fries - with grilled onions - and an everything bagel - for me, at $9.99, including a .50 charge for the added onions. Coffee as my beverage at $1.90 - I skipped the water.
Egg, cheese and bacon sandwich on a plain bagel for my daughter - $5.99. Orange juice as her beverage at $3.00 - she skipped the water as well.
Best deli breakfast we've had in quite some time. I was particularly fond of the homemade corn beef hash. Definitely homemade and not from a can. Portions were more than adequate. Food was cooked exactly to order - presentation was great as well.
Polite and friendly staff - Ildy was our server. Clean restaurant. Plenty of parking and a convenient location on Galt Ocean Mile.
Five stars to NY Deli - I will definitely visit again. With an extensive menu, they have so much to offer. And if breakfast was any indication, I'm sure lunch will be just as inviting.

Read moreBELIEVE the post from customer saying he was treated like scum. DONT BELEIVE their FAKE reviews below (really? like 10 random people all decided to review and praise "mary" on the same day? C'mon) DON'T BELIEVE THE HOURS POSTED & dont expect to be treated w/ respect. I just moved across the street from this place and was excited to try their bagels. Hours say open til 3pm. I walked up at 2:57pm. A waitress was outside smoking and said "hi" to me, assuming I was going to the dry cleaner. There were people eating inside. I reached for deli door and the smoking server said "we're closed." Me: I thought you closed at 3? Her: we do. Me: Ok its 2:58 and I just want 1 bagel to go. Her: Well, we already packed up the bagels and put away the toasters. Me: That's ok I don't need it toasted. I just moved across street and been dying to try them. Her: Like I said we are closed.
Really? How long would it take to put 1 bagel in a bag? Packed away already? For what? Does that mean tomorrow's bagels are from today? If a business doesn't want your money, take your business elsewhere. I would have been a regular customer several days a week. But, I would rather drive 15 minutes to Einstein's than give these rude people $1.00. Way to...
