This was my first year going to the festival and the fact that they dont have a refund policy on tickets if the even is shut down was highly disappointing. My family and I got there, purchased $75 in tickets. It started raining and one of the event workers told us that they were shutting the rides down for safety, which I understand. They told us the rides would be up and running again in 15 minutes when the storm passed. That never happened. Even after the rain stopped. Then we were told unfortunately due to circumstances that they could not control, there would be no refunds. They said the vendors would not refund by any means. I think there should be some type of exceptions when the events are completely shut down. This was saddening because we were all excited about attending the festival. It's a bit of a mini carnival. You'll find carnival rides for kids, lots of carnival food, live music, and a pretty good selection of arts and craft vendors. At night there are usually fireworks too.
I love that so many of the food vendors have strawberry themed food. The strawberry shortcake from Bruesters is one of my favorites. You can find things like strawberry lemonade, popcorn, donuts, bread, and deep fried strawberries.
The food vendors don't take credit card, so bring cash. The art vendors do take credit card.
There's a couple parking lots, we usually park at Fort Mill High School and then they have a bus that shuttles you to the park.
If you haven't been before, I think is a fun way to spend...

Parking is only slightly painful. We were able to get reasonably close. The live music was excellent, and better than typical fair food, with many local spots in attendance.
The kids zone, i.e. rides was a disaster. Tickets were expensive, most rides costing been $3-4 per ride. However there were simply too many people for the number of rides.
Was there with two young kids and had to give tickets away because we didn't have time to use them ... The lines were just too long.
If you have teenagers and can spend all day, I'm sure it can be a wonderful time. If you have young kids ... Bring something to...
