If the guy with dyed hair is working when you're planning on shopping at the Glenbrook GameStop, just go to Jefferson Pointe instead. I was in today, trying to buy Pokemon cards, because a lot of surrounding stores are either completely out, or don't have the new sets. Before even getting to the register, I noticed the guy was on his phone. At the register, the transaction was going fine until he stated that my PowerUp Rewards membership had expired. I told him that I didn't need to renew today, and he asked if I was sure, because the membership would "pay for itself", meaning with discounts and rewards. I said again that I would wait, because renewing was not a priority today. I just wanted to buy my cards and leave. He then had the audacity to ask WHY I did not want to renew today. It is not the cashier's business why a customer does not want to renew a membership. They should not be asking a customer this. I once again said no thanks. My husband even chimed in and said we did not want to renew. The cashier had the gall to ask, "Can I get a word in?" No. You've lost that privilege. He should have dropped it after the second time I said no. My husband and I have both worked in retail, we understand when cashiers have to push credit card sign-ups or membership renewals. It's a disgusting behavior created by companies. I'm used to getting asked a couple times at other stores. But when a customer says no, no thank you, or I don't want to do that right now, the cashier needs to respect that and drop it. My husband asked if I wanted to go somewhere else, and I said yes, and in my anger, I may have said a few choice words, but I feel like they were provoked, thanks to his behavior. From the looks of a few other Google reviews and Facebook posts, many other people have had problems with this particular employee here. Some of the bad reviews date back five or six months. He's definitely driving customers away...
Read moreIt took me a minute to think about this review. I made a couple transactions at this place seen the associates. I figured them to be some what knowledgeable in some aspects and they are. The reason for one star is I had to bad experiences at this particular store. Black Friday I wanted to assist a friend to trade in a Xbox One X for an X series S. I believe his name was Chris tried telling me that my machine was more powerful than the what I wanted to trade in for. Bruh. I brought this 6 year old xbox one x to get a new one and your about to argue about specs with me alright cool whatever. We got the Xbox. I also pre ordered Callisto Protocol and ordered the wrong version. It was a hinest mistake so I figured I would take it back see if I can get the updated copy for my Series X. It was a Thursday and dead in the store. I was literally only person there . This short dude, looked me dead in and told me I could not exchange it for the updated copy it was too early to do that. Don't understand that policy or whatever when I am literally asking for the same game. No reason was given or whatever. I sold it to MEGA REPLAY out of frustration because it ran bad.. Didnt even try to compromise or assist with the problem. Like man put yourself in my shoes. Its annoying already that games are expensive and your telling me i cannot trade towards the updated version ?? Twice I had to put up with incompetence. Simple stuff. It was very frustrating I encourage those who come here to know your stuff. They get away with petty tactics and at times have smart remarks. I reccomend just going to a different location. You may leave unhappy or questioning whether you spent your time wisely...
