I recently had the pleasure of stopping by Amay Kitchen on my drive down to Tennessee from Michigan. The experience gave me a moment of respite to fill up and rest for the long drive ahead of me. I had no expectations coming in, and ordered my favorite thai dish Pad Kee Mao. The service from beginning to end was excellent, and the ambience was welcoming. The food itself was probably one of the best representations of Thai food that I've had the opportunity try. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao for "Thai Hot" and the portion sizes were satisfying. The spice level was a little underwhelming but it is understandable as it had to be palatable. In terms of pricing, Amay Kitchen offers excellent value for the quality of food and service provided. The prices are reasonable, considering the authentic flavors and portion sizes offered. I didn't try any of their drinks or desserts, but would if I ever have the opportunity to stop by once again.

We were very excited to try this place out with the 5.0 rating at the time of our visit. Unfortunately we were not overly impressed. While the samosas and spring rolls were excellent, the entress left us wanting. Our kids split the lo mein and it just tasted like a light soy sauce. Not appetizing at all, and they hardly ate it. My wife got some coconut soup dish, and the flavors were just average. No depth, very simple. I got the seafood pad kee mao. It did come with a good portion of seafood, and I would say it was a 3.5* dish. To us, Amay Kitchen is overrated. But we are also spoiled with some truly great Thai food in Lima where we are from. Maybe all the 5* reviews haven't had amazing Thai yet?

Another hidden gem I've never had that is 200% worth trying. Very friendly service, quaint unassuming atmosphere. Absolutely delicious across the board. The Thai Sausages were fantastic. The lunch specials of Pad Thai (beef) and Pad See Ew (beef) were phenomenal, and the mango sticky rice was one of the best I've had. We've come back several times since. Amazing heavily stuffed crab rangoon and we tried several curries so far. Some just ok but their Masaaman Curry is fantastic (always a good choice). We also finally tried their Firecracker wings. Wings themselves pretty good but the stake sticky rice with it is odd and the cold dipping sauce had an off pudding flavor to me.

A Culinary Delight!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Amay Kitchen, and it was an exquisite experience from start to finish. The culinary journey began with their Burmese Tea, a smooth and delightful sip that set the perfect tone for the meal.

Throughout the dining experience, I had the opportunity to savor another cup of tea at the end, almost like a dessert. It was equally delightful, albeit for different reasons, adding a perfect finishing touch to the meal.

The Tea Leaf Salad was an absolute revelation. Its fermented tea leaves, accompanied by an array of crunchy nuts and seeds, provided a savory sensation that wasn't overly reliant on salt. The dish was a delightful blend of flavors and textures, making it a fantastic companion to every bite.

And then there was the Tom Kha Gai, a chicken variant with a mild spiciness that struck just the right balance. The coconut milk and lemongrass-based soup was a flavor explosion, with a medley of ingredients that danced harmoniously on the palate.

Amay Kitchen has truly mastered the art of creating dishes that are both delicious and memorable. The service was impeccable, and the ambiance was... okay.

If you're a fat sweaty man like me, you will like that they keep it at 68° Fahrenheit.

If you're seeking an exceptional culinary experience in Fort Wayne, Amay Kitchen is an absolute must-visit.

This is the best southeast Asian food in Fort Wayne. If you like authentic, full flavored dishes I suggest everything on the menu. If you grew up with the plain places that sell Mac and cheese and fried chicken and need a new taste in your life welcome to Amay. I used to live on the west coast and had a Thai / Burmese place I loved but this place is by far the best I’ve had in the U.S. I highly suggest the tea leaf salad for something new (eat it slowly and with a group or you will begin to sweat); and every soup they offer is delicious. The boat noodles are a good gateway to their flavors, and if you want to try something that just warms the soul I suggest the Tom Kha Gai with shrimp or chicken. This place even removes the shrimp tail so you can enjoy the full meal. And you can never go wrong with Tom Yum Soup. I have ordered their soups so often I think about them in my dreams. Also if you do want chicken wings, theirs are bomb - just crunchy and delicious and you don’t even need a...

The food here is absolutely delicious!! As I expected, since the owner and cooks are previously from a place I used to frequently visit, Mahnin. The interior is clean and cozy, with very helpful and friendly staff. I was greeted with a smile and although I ordered takeout, I was offered complementary hot tea while I waited. I ordered the samosas appetizer, a favorite! As delicious as I remember 😋 I opted for Pad Khee Mao with chicken, level 4 spicy. It was absolutely delicious! Wide noodles, tomatoes, garlic, veggies, lots of Thai basil 🤤 The menu is full of delicious curries, soups, and noodle dishes for both vegetarians and carnivores alike. I will definitely be returning soon and eventually trying everything on the menu, which I'm sure is all fantastic! If you're looking for truly authentic Asian cuisine and aren't afraid to step outside the box and do something a little different, please add this to your list of stops. You won't be...
