Pawster Park (Pay Access) — Attraction in Fort Wayne

My puppy loved playing here. We’ve since moved, but I wanted to give it the rating it deserves. I appreciate that the Fort Wayne Parks Department offers two dog parks for residents. This was my puppy’s favorite of the two. It is spacious, clean, and most times my puppy and I were alone. I’m sad to see reviews complaining about having to pay. I never had a problem with this. I understand the need for payment. The parks department built two dog parks, which costs money, and need to process your pets’ vaccine records for the safety of all dogs and people. Also, they have to keep the parks clean and mowed. These things cost money. Why people would think this should be for free is beyond me. I guess those complaining don’t have the foresight to acknowledge...

A "public park" that you have to pay a fee to use? So what does the taxpayers money go to exactly? I can understand if it's a pool or golf course or something sports related but making people pay to use a park for their dog? I don't have to pay to take my child to use the playground and you have to maintain that? So why charge for a dog to enjoy a park? Fort Wayne is becoming a douche catering city. Pay parks for dogs, can't ride your bike on a sidewalk, want to renovate the river front to make it suitable for hipsters...

There is no other park in Fort Wayne that cost a fee to visit. Wake up Fort Wayne, in most other cities dog parks are open to the public, as they should be. A carefree area for your pup to run, play and socialize.... without them having to be chained up or worried about cars. This is ridiculous and I will definitely not pay this fee out of principal.
