The Stand Coneys & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

My family has been going to The Stand for over a year regularly. We're new to the FW area as of late 2021 and it took us a while to find out about it. I love that they have Veggie dogs. It gives people a healthy choice. You can ask for shredded real cheddar cheese on it too. The brownie in the brownie sundae 🍨 is amazing! Soft, chocolatey, with chocolate chips in it! I tried a regular Coney Dog yesterday on their 20th anniversary bc they were out of Veggie dogs. It was good! I try to avoid nitrates and nitrites though normally. We always take our long haired chihuahua puppy with us. He got a "pup cup" of vanilla ice cream yesterday. (Very tiny little cup -FREE) First time we heard about it but that was the first time the dog had gotten out of the car. The owner has a big heart. I saw an interview with the owner on the internet about the 20th anniversary. He said they partnered with Kate's Kart, a charity that takes donations of new children's books for kids in hospitals in NE Indiana and NW Ohio. There was a Kate's Kart van there yesterday. This place has a family atmosphere, a Pavillion, a play ground, and sits right next to a golf driving range. On a sunny day ( they are closed on Mondays) it's an old fashioned slice of small community! The only thing that would be an improvement is to have a couple of flush restrooms built on site. LOVE...

As someone who was very excited for this place to open for the season I’m very disappointed in their service last night. They were not busy but the employees were too focused on talking to each other than the customers. They first only handed a drink out and discussed us then got irritated when we told them we still needed our order which was literally sitting right in front of them. Then on top of that we had wanted to place a secondary order and they literally ignored that and was not even listening when we tried to order it and even at the window they literally did not give two craps. So we left and took our business somewhere else. The girl at the window was absolutely rude for no reason. I then messaged their facebook to let them know and they seen it but have not even apologized nor tried to make it right. (Their phones have not accepted a call) I guess we will not be coming here anymore. You have lost a customer and i wont be recommending this place to anyone. To the employees last night i truly hope you learn to be kind and treat others like you would want to be treated. Especially the good customers who come through and are not...

I've been there about 3 times this whole summer and everytime I get the same thing but different prices I paid about $4 for a large ice cream and then today I paid over $5 for a small but it was the same thing. I asked for no whipped cream and I got whipped cream. I repeated my order to them 3 times and they still didnt understand my order. All I ordered was ice cream, imagine if I ordered actual food. I repeatedly ask for a lid at least 4 times if not more and they said they would give me one and then they didn't give me one. As she handed it to me I asked for a lid she just looked at me a shut the window. The people who work there don't know what they are doing. They are rude and I would not recommend anyone going there. Although the ice cream is delicious it's not worth the stupidity of the cashiers. ALSO I FOUND STUFF ON MY ICE CREAM THAT WASN'T EVEN SUPPOSED...
