My friend and I entered this establishment and were instantly profiled! I work in customer service so naturally I greeted the manager who stands at the front when you walk in, she didn’t speak much and when I greeted her she gave a smug grin. She asked what we needed and I told her 2 pedis, she then began to assist another couple while she was still assisting us. We had to seat ourselves at a nail table because she didn’t give direction as to where we were suppose to sit and we waited to be helped (10-15mins) before she acknowledged we were still sitting. She did take it upon herself to run the water for our feet to soak but the water was cold by the time she told us to come back and sit! My friend noticed the room was segregated but I didn’t pay any attention to that I thought may just a coincidence because they were starting to get busy but being the only two black ladies in the building everyone who came in after us was seated on the opposite side! Our techs came to do our pedis and didn’t greet us either! Mine asked me if that was the color I picked out and I told her yes! I tried to make small talk because I find it awkward for someone to be in your personal space and we not know one another! I goto plenty of salons and most are friendly! She kept her head down the entire time and barely spoke to me! She handled me rough but she was efficient! They charge $28 for a basic pedi but you only soak your feet and they buff and paint, no hot towel or anything like the other salons! My friends tech asked her could she pay her now while I had just started getting my feet worked on! Now correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve never been forced to pay before I was getting ready to leave! As a matter of fact that was the only thing the tech even said to my friend! I personally didn’t want to see it as a race thing because I look at Asians as people of color as well! I began to felt a bit uneasy when I noticed younger girls who weren’t old enough to PAY received better treatment than we did! It goes with out saying that we didn’t tip! And if the manager is reading this, I hope you and your team work on the way you treat ALL your customers because I should have never felt the way I did today! I know the lady in the front was the manager because I asked her was she the manager and she exclaimed yes and she immediately assumed something was wrong with my nails! I don’t know if they’ve had a bad experience with others that are the same race as I am but you should know not all black people steal and my friend and I work at an amazing company and give many referrals and your place of business will not be one! I’m sorry that you felt the need to treat us like scum and you didn’t see our money as green as the other lady’s in your establishment today! I was the one you told you would go get me slippers because your worker didn’t get me any and then you passed the slippers to her to put on my feet! Neither you or Michelle offered my friend and I a place for us to wait for our feet to dry but Rose had the nerve to ask us to pay in advance. The salon is nice and high class, I just wished your personalities matched!
To anyone looking for a decent nail salon this one is NOT a place...
Read moreI've been going here for many months now for pedicures. I get my manicures done elsewhere because that work is more difficult. Yesterday, the manager/associate who greets everyone at the door told me that they had a nail tech who could do any kind of acrylic/ombre/designs that I like. He is very pleasant and thorough so I believed him. I told him that I had limited time and needed to be at work, but he assured me that they could do a manicure and pedicure quickly at the same time. The nail tech that he assigned to me told me herself that she was brand-new: it was her first day on the job (and this was a 11:30am appointment so I must have been one of her very first customers). It took her two hours to do a basic acrylic set and she did a horrible job. I refused to let her add any of the simple designs that I originally requested because that would have taken her forever! Multiple other nail techs had to help her which made me think she had very little prior experience. It is THE ABSOLUTE WORST my nails have ever looked--- from the color to the rough finish. I put acrylic over my own nails to retain my natural shape so she did not need to shape or even file down anything (all I needed was a basic filling). I asked for ombre color which she clearly could not do, because she asked someone else to spray-paint the second color on for her. She could barely work the spray-machine and told me she had never used one before. I have never had my nails spray-painted with color for ombre before (it's usually dip-mixed), so I should have stopped this process before it started. The spray paint got all over my fingers and skin. Now, more than 24 hours later, the spay paint is still stained all over my fingers: fingertips, nail bed, and fingers. It will probably be a few more days before it all comes off, no matter how many times I wash my hands and try to wipe my fingers clean with alcohol. I'm glad that I don't have to go somewhere professional this weekend or I would be embarrassed. I will never return to this place again and do not recommend anyone else to go here either. These are really unethical business practices, especially given how much I paid for this ugly,...
Read moreThe services I got were subpar from the beginning starting with Stefan which is a shame since the great impression I received over the phone From Lynn was nothing of the sort. I was placed with Mia she did offer me a drink however I didn’t receive a menu to choose and theres a fully stocked bar!? The mimosa was decent. It continued to go downhill from there with the pedicure scrub which not once did Mia use the metal tool to actually scrub the dead skin only the purple pumice stone. The massage wasn’t even 10 minutes or worth it for that matter; she started rubbing on my left foot was on the where I needed it I even said that’s the spot and she moves like why move if that’s where I need it then the right foot was the same thing so a total of 3 minutes as a massage. With a weak attempt at rubbing my legs while in the paraffin wax. Even though the service was below my expectations Mia wasn’t rude and that made up for the pedicure. Ivy the nail tech was very polite and knowledgeable on what best to get and I greatly appreciate that, she gave me options and didn’t mind talking it through. She was thorough in her work making sure I liked it. I don’t agree with the shops definition for medium length being that my medium nails are seen as long and was an additional charge which was ok because the medium was way to short and the short is basically nonexistent. Nonetheless she did a great job. Also I expected a dip with manicure to be more then sticking my hands in lukewarm water that went cold quickly then to just start clipping my cuticles and just rubbing lotion on my hands after my nails are completely done. I’ve been to multiple nail salons where they lotion your hands at the end regardless. I’m not sure if maybe choosing a different service is needed to get a better experience but you would think with it being my first time; which I stated to them you would want to give a...
