My boyfriend and I come here pretty frequently (sometimes once a week, couple times a week, every other week) and tonight was our first time being helped by Elizabeth. We’ve always ordered the same thing - same ingredients that’s in the strawberry shortcake (from the Signature Sundaes menu) but in a small mix-in. We like ordering as a mix in because we prefer everything mixed instead of layered. The Sundae cup sizes are also too much to finish so the small mix in size is better for us. We’ve never had any issues with any of the other gentlemen that works there. Elizabeth was confused, so I repeated again "i would like a small mix in using the same ingredients thats in the strawberry shortcake." Elizabeth responded "ive worked here for 3 years and have never had anyone request this, but since it's not too busy, I guess i can do this for you" with a negative tone. She then asks me if i wanted my ice cream in the sundae cup or white cup. i was confused by this because i had already stated i wanted a small mix in. my boyfriend told her in the small mix in cup. Another gal helped my boyfriend and he requested the same thing but seeing how Elizabeth was with mine, he broke it down by telling the other staff he wanted a small mix in cup with sweet cream ice cream, shortcake, strawberry, and strawberry jam and there were no issues (same exact ingredients I had in my cup). When it came time to pay, Elizabeth hands me the best value cup and tells me that she’s going to charge me the best value mix in (largest cup size) which is still better than being charged the Sundae. This is when i had enough and told her i dont understand because i specifically asked for a small mix in size cup. Elizabeth then goes oh, well i guess ill make it again then. i told Elizabeth to just forget it at this point. i did express to Elizabeth my boyfriend and i come here often and have never had any issues with other staff. my boyfriend also literally just ordered the exact same thing that i did. i ended up paying for mine as a best value mix in with my boyfriend's small mix in and left.
I did not appreciate Elizabeth’s attitude, tone, or poor customer service. Busy or not, I don’t understand what was the problem in me asking for a mix in when this is what they serve and is...
Read moreWe preordered a Cookies & Cream ice cream cake online for my daughter’s birthday. They didn’t have her first two choices of cakes available, despite them being an ice cream cake store. We waited in line for 30 minutes while two very young teenaged girls struggled to take/make orders. When it was our turn, one of the girls handed us a frozen $53.00 hot mess…that looked NOTHING like the picture of the cake we’d purchased online. When I asked why, the 16 y/o girl said that the pictures online were “just a guideline”… that the actual cake decoration “was up to the person decorating it”. When I asked them to put my daughter’s name on it to fill the gaping hole in the center where cookies were supposed to be, I was told they don’t personalize the cakes with names. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there wasn’t one available. When I asked to speak to an adult in charge, I was told that the adult manager left town for the weekend and left them to run the store! I’ve never, in my entire life, been to any establishment where there wasn’t an adult present - only two very young, very inexperienced teenagers.
The icing was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and not uniform in size (see the border around the base of the cake). Some icing blooms were about 1/4” long, while some were well over 1” long. The cake itself was missing 1/2 of the Oreo’s compared to the online cake picture. The center of the cake was supposed to form a cookie circle with beautiful cookie crumbles in the middle, but that was also missing. The sides of the cake had no Oreos at all, and the cake looked like something an amateur baker was practicing on in the back room between customers….not a cake that someone paid good money for. Do not order an ice cream cake and expect to get one that looks like the pictures they have posted online. I spent almost $60.00 on that cake and still had to buy Oreo cookies from the grocery store to make it look presentable. For that much money, it should include a ribbon with a frosting name draped across the top, or some other form of personalization. Save yourself the drama and order a cake from an actual bakery - not an ice cream store run by teenagers. It was a very costly mistake and an embarrassment to take to my daughter’s...
Read moreI LOVE Marble Slab and have tried to swing by this week to get some for my Dad as an early Fathers Day treat. I pass this place on my way home so it’s really easy to see if they are open or not as I drive by.
The hours for Marble Slab online state that this store doesn’t close until 9 p.m. on week nights and is open until 10 p.m. on the weekends (if you Google it, some results even say 11 p.m.). I tried to go by this store three separate times this week and each time the store had closed at least an hour earlier than it’s supposed to.
I get it, business can be slow and sometimes stores close a bit earlier than usual; this is different and incredibly annoying! Why doesn’t the store owner or manager do something about this? Closing early, by at least 45 minutes, three nights in this one week alone - especially on a Saturday - that store has to be losing money!
Normally I would not even post or rate this, but it’s my Dad’s favorite and I just wanted to get him a sweet treat since we are celebrating him this week. I’d go to the store earlier if I could but I work very strange hours between Fort Worth and Dallas, so I leave before they open and lately, pass the store on my way home between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. nightly. Bummer! I hope they fix this! Other stores aren’t closing as early, so I will just go get something else or visit a different store since this one is seemingly...
