Local Foods Kitchen — Restaurant in Fort Worth

Very sad to be leaving this review. Worst part of my wedding, the most stressful part was using this restaurant for catering. I met with the owner in June. I asked if i needed to sign a contract or give a down payment to ensure she would be catering for me on that date. She said no and that she had me in the books. I tried calling the restaurant a few times between June and September to schedule a tasting. I always was told she’d call me back but she never did. I ended up texting her a week before my wedding in October. No response. I went to the restaurant in person and was told by an employee she wasn’t there. I said ok well i just need to know if she’s still catering my wedding in a week. She said let me go check if she’s in the back again. And finally she came and talked to me. She said she had called my venue and they didn’t know who i was and she didn’t like the venue and wasn’t planning on catering for me anymore. Was incredibly rude to me, didn’t apologize but i was left in a bind having to go with her because it was so late. Dealing with passive aggressive comments and her not listening to what i actually wanted on the menu, telling me it was a wedding not a cocktail party and my choices for appetizers were bad. A wedding should be fun. Vendors should want to work with you. She went as far to be RUDE TO MY OTHER VENDORS. Way out of line and extremely unprofessional. She charged extra for every little detail. Local Foods Kitchen is AmAzInG! They have tons of options of cold and hot foods, beverages galore, and happens to be just enjoyably adorable. An incredible array of beautiful treats of all kinds, fruit cakes and pies, cookies, chocolates and more. With a relaxing and shady green patio, indoor dining, pick up or Togo, they treat all of their customers as royalty. I was ordering to go and was offered a cup for water while I waited to which I was able to spruce up by adding complimentary fresh mint, oranges, lemons, cucumbers and limes, so refreshing! I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Skewer and Sweet Potato/Cauliflower/Kale salad. My order was ready in 2 min and the place was packed, very quick and painless grab and go! My dishes were scrumptious and came with a fresh made delectable tzatziki that makes my mouth water to think about. All the green plants and decor and big windows make it such a pleasant place to enjoy a healthy and extremely satisfying meal. I also got a flourless chocolate heart cake that was divine! My office had a Holiday Open House for our clients. We ordered the catering from Local Foods Kitchen (LFK) and could not have been happier! The food was terrific!! Sirloin sliders, chicken skewers, orzo salad and mac n' cheese were some of the favorites. Ginger Lemonade & Peach Tea were the best! The trays were nicely decorated with fruit and flowers. I wish that I had taken some pictures to post.

I used LFK's excellent website to choose the options that I thought would work for our event and emailed Katie. She was wonderful to help give advice on the menu. Their website has very detailed pdfs with all the catering options. We will definitely be using them again for our next event. The staff were awesome the day we picked up the food. It was ready at the promised time and everything was exactly as ordered.

During planning, I went by LFK to visit with Katie and had lunch. The Power Salad with Creamy Cilantro dressing is fantastic!! I will return to LFK for lunch very soon.
