I've been using Eloise May Library at least since 2002 when it first opened. Several months ago in 2022, for 2 hours, I tried to use the computer station area at Eloise May Library to work on an important report. A younger male was using a computer and talked on his cell phone the entire time I was there. Strictly a personal call NOT a business call. I could hear every word he was saying. Staff members walked around where this young man was sitting and came. back and agreed, yes, he was talking on his phone. No offer to consult with him and ask him to either talk outside or to lower his voice. I tried moving around the circle of computers to find a location that was less exposed to this person. I found one that was pretty good, but in the short time it took to grab my things from another station, someone else had taken the station I had just found! Very frustrating! I frequently use the quiet and employee-monitored Virginia Village Library large area of computer stations a few miles away. This was a Monday, and Virginia Village Library is closed Mondays. Never hear anyone talking on their phone over there, or at least if they do, they keep their voice very low because the employees monitor noise levels. Virginia Village is a well run neighborhood library.
I give the management at Eloise May, the staff, and the male library patron, all a zero because this shouldn't have been happening in a library, IMO.
My advice to you is: Don't go to Eloise May Library if a quiet atmosphere is important to you when you are writing a report, etc. I've been going to Eloise May practically since it opened many years ago, and haven't used their computers much, so wasn't aware that they don't enforce the usual library policies. Better yet, all of us need to find out what their policies are at Eloise May Library of Arapahoe County, CO, so we won't be disappointed if we schedule time there and we can't be productive due to situations like this. Otherwise, Eloise May is a great library and I've used it for meetings and other...
Read moreVERY POOR! Worst Library I have ever been to. Most of the staff is horible with the exception of maybe two ladies but their attitudes are disgusting. The computers are always full and you have to reserve one every time. 15 minutes later your session is over and you have to reserve another one. Oh and did I mention the staff is so rude. If I ever ask for help they are of little help and they always complain. I was writing up a work related letter and my co-worker was helping me. Well one of the librarians made him go sit down and said he is not allowed to help me. She made it sound like she was about to call the cops over this urgent matter. They have kicked me off computers before saying they are for kids only and when I tried to reason with her she just got more and more aggresive towards me saying there is a sign and I should have noticed it. She wouldn't let me save my work that I was working on. Just horrible experience every time. I will never return to this location and I will make sure to let everyone know just how...
Read moreRude service, kids/teenager, and people. In the children library place, there was kids everywhere some yelling and it is not a very good place to study and read. I was with my 2 year old duaghter and some kids who were about 6 or 5 was running to my duaghter. When I was with my duaghter everything seem fine. When my duaghter and the kids went to the small room and I decieded to look at my phone. After 5 minutes, I heard yelling that sound like my duaghter. I rushed to my duaghter and the kid was pulling my duaghter hair. I said the kid to let go, but he didn't so I told the libirian at the front desk. He didn't care at all and shrugged. He told me to find his partent. I went back to my duaghter, took her and screached for his partent. I found his partent and I started to tell them why they didn't care about their son. They started arguing at me for no reason. It was a karen. I left the karen and went away. That was the worst. Rude kids and service! Don't go...
