We wanted to go to Lynx Lake for quite a while. Since we were camping at White Spar Campground in Prescott we decided to go. It had rained earlier. When we got there we found a trail that was paved and goes around the entire lake. We ended up only doing two and a half miles because of our small dogs, but can't wait to go back to do the entire track. Absolutely gorgeous views. One part of the trail was actually underwater from the rains. But it formed a really awesome waterfall by the dam. We also drove over to the beach side. There were a ton of picnic tables and plenty of parking with beach access for your kayak or paddle board. Definitely going back for Camp season!

Caught a nice size Rainbow Trout on my way out leaving the lake. I was fishing for catfish all morning with no luck. I decided to do a little a trolling on my way to the boat ramp to go home. Didn't go more than 50-60 feet and got a strike. Nice size trout for a Rainbow. After I released the fish I decided to troll for a little while longer, but it got pretty windy so I went home satisfied I didn't get skunked. Forgot to get a pic. Here's a pic from the week before at Goldwater Lake. Albino Rainbow teout. Cool, never seen one before

Linx Lake is a beautiful, peaceful place with open & covered picnicking and bbq areas with plenty of picnic tables. There's grass to sink your feet into and a nice short walk down to the water. We enjoyed watching families playing in the water, people kayaking & the ducks were fun to watch too. Keep in mind Wednesday is free parking, the other days are $5.00. There's a little café there, but it was closed when we were there, so I'm not sure what is available.

DO NOT MISS Lynx Lake Prescott AZ. This is a great Federal Park and the daily parking fee is only $ 5 but if you have the Golden Pass for Seniors it is free. Just be sure to enter this when you get a parking pass and leave on your windshield because they will ticket you. The notice says free on Wednesday but double check This is a wonderful park to walk the lake. If you are up to it it is a 4 mile walk that is beautiful from every spot and great for photos. The lake has fishing, swimming, paddle boat, canoe and Kayak. I did see a motor boat but not sure where it came from or if they are rented. If interested you should call. They have reasonable overnight camping an spots for RV stays. We did not check out because we already had a spot at a local RV park and most Federal parks have limited spaces and do not accommodate large RV's. We have however stayed in some wonderful Federal parks that do have larger spaces. Many Federal parks however are booked well in advance so check long be fore your planned trip. We went to this park 3 times during our visit because we were determined to walk the full path around the lake. We did make it but be aware there a few paces for drinking water so bring some. You can bring a dog but keep them on a lead and do not forget bring water and bowl for them. It does get warm and the path has limited shade but a walk...

I was a little irritated I showed up at 12:00 and I the host said I can't check until 2:00 I said my site is clean . Her pupils really dilated and she was really irate and rude. To make matters worse I had people going through my campsite at night stealing things woke up in the middle of the night and someone messed with my car and was leaking fluids so I left and when I took it to a mechanic he said there's pin holes in my is my hoses. Left never went back even though my car got fixed because things got stolen I met some people up there and they were up to no good. About a mile above the campground there's people living up there and they're coming down at night time and stealing from people that are paying. I will never go back to this campground again I don't think I'll even drive through Prescott again. I've traveled a lot of places and I like it when the camp host drives around every hour. Another thing that irritated me there was people playing music till about 12:00 at night didn't get a lot of sleep . Oh I almost forgot there was a lot of people just doing drugs openly. Well I've kind of learned traveling through Arizona what towns I will...
