I’ll start off with saying, the massage I got from JJ was stellar. If I lived in the area, I’d return for her alone. Great massage and clearly trauma informed.
Plenty of pools to choose from that are spread out enough that you can really chose your vibe/ amount of people you want to be around. As it got later in the day, it was quite crowded. However, absolutely not a kids place which was quite nice.
The sauna is not very hot, but the steam room for sure pumps out steam!!
Majority of pools are quite deep—pro and a con. I do love a deep pool but essentially all of them, the built in seating/ benches are too deep for the average woman/ short person. A bit uncomfortable to lounge. I found none of the pools to be incredibly hot, so as someone who loves to cook, I felt it was lacking, or just a comfortable bath temp at best, but I had a friend with me who found it plenty hot, so take that as you will.
I loved the one pool with rocks in the bottom—I’d highly suggest making a few more like that. I’d also suggest making some pools with a gradual/ diagonal edge so it’s more comfortable to lounge, rather than having to be seated or standing.
I think it’s a bit over priced for what it is—yes there are plenty of pools but they are more or less the same temperature minus a few cooler larger pool, which effectively are just hotel pools, and the showers and locker rooms and pretty basic.
I also found the pools to not be labeled very well. Only a couple had their temperature listed, and only a few had their benefits listed. It would be nice to have an idea of what pools are hotter than others rather than having to dip a foot in to see whats up.
It does seem like they’re expanding and building more pools which is exciting. And I found being around the natural rock/ the overall natural environment...
Read moreI am a hot springs kinda gal. I love trying out new hot springs. We came here with the purpose to get away from the crazy loudness of towns and relax. My husband and I were excited about trying Ojo Caliente out so we got the day pass soak and a private soak. We came on a Thursday thinking it wouldn’t be busy. We paid a lot of money to experience these hot springs but let me tell you we will NOT be coming back. The place was packed! So packed that the pool were over crowded and people were not respecting the quiet time posted. It just looked like a tub filled with germs with so many people. We were able to try out 2 pools. The steam rooms were nice but also packed and people opening and closing the door so many times it was hard to relax.
The private soak was pretty much all I liked. The water was hot, it was quiet, and beautiful under the stars. My husband and I got to soak without all the people which was nice. There were two gals at the front desk that were so kind. They were the front desk at the spa entrance. Oh the very front desk the guy didn’t know what he was doing and gave my husband a key fob to the girls locker room. Every place was packed and we definitely didn’t get our...
Read moreDefinitely worth the visit. One of my favorite pay to soak hotsprings. There are several soaking pools with different temperatures and different mineral content. Dry sauna, steam, mud pool! It's great. You can do a private soak with a fire place and sweet view but those are a little less exciting than the rest of the facility. Each pool has a little information on the contents of the water and what the minerals are used for....
