We read about this place when we were planning our trip to the Grand Canyon. We stopped by after we left the Grand Canyon and arrived around 4 pm. We looked around the store and they had a lot of cheap souvenir type items. There was a little cafe and we thought we might try to eat there before we left. We paid the $5 each to go into bedrock city and were told to come back through the same door we went into. We looked around and at first thought it was going to be pretty cool. Then we looked closer and realized that it looked like it had not been maintained at all. Everything was fallen apart, windows were broken, there was tagging everywhere and hardly anything worked. There were a lot of things that were vandalized and they didn’t repair anything. They had a “train ride” which was a golf cart and a trailer that was made to look like a flintstone car. We went over to the “train” and nobody was there. We looked closer and saw that it was chained up so we decided to just leave. We went to the door and it was locked. We heard people inside so we knocked and pounded on the door but it never opened. It was 5:00. The sign said open for dinner, so we didn’t think they were closed yet. We walked to some windows and found all of the lights off. We pounded on the door some more, but heard nothing. We were locked inside the theme park. We tried finding a way out, but there were no exits we could get through. Luckily there was no fence or wall and we were able to escape. To do so, we had to walk about 1/4 mile through an overgrown field and climb through a hole in a barbed wire fence, where there were some dead fish just hanging there, to get back to our car. All of this with our 4 year old child. When we did finally get back to our car, the employee that let us into the park was standing by her truck. We later found out her name was Charlie. We tried to get her attention by saying, “excuse me?” And she responded, “I’m busy” and ignored us. We went next door to their “campground” which was a bunch of permanent, broken down looking, motor homes that it looked like people were living in. We spoke to someone there, who was very friendly and apologized, and said he would speak to the owner about it. Overall, we were VERY disappointed and wish we would have just...

I went on 3/26/16 and this place is absolutely beyond dilapidated. I wish I had taken more photos instead of trying to get the best possible angle to hide the crumbling plaster, the graffiti covered everything, and the areas filled with junk... and one lone live goat locked up in one of these buildings.
The condition of this place is horrendous and the fact that it costs $5 a person to get in is absurd. There is no memorabilia, it's an area that was made to look like Bedrock City and hasn't been spruced up, repainted or repaired in what looks to be like... ever. The place is more than 40 years old and it shows.
For whatever reason, many of the buildings are locked and filled with junk (general trash, a mannequin of a dusty cowboy in the jail) and there's old Halloween decorations littering the place. Even old barrel planters (which doesn't match the theme) are so weather-worn that they've rotted out of the metal ring that holds the barrel together and it's become a misshapen lump near the door of various buildings. Even the Flintstones cars that you can pose with are missing steering wheels, some of them have rotted into the ground and are generally unsafe looking to sit on.
There was a huge stage that supposedly plays old Flintstones cartoons - it was off and covered in construction debris.
The gift shop isn't much better - nobody has bought stuff in such a long time that snow globes were almost out of water because it had evaporated after sitting so long on the shelf.
This is a travesty that anyone would suggest this spot...
Read moreRaptor Ranch wasn't on the itinerary until it just showed up. The iconic Fred Flintstone sign is what first intrigues you to the park.
The Raptor Ranch contains a fine gift shop along with a restaurant window serving up fast service food.
The Raptor museum is the outdoor park. I was interested in the Peregrine falcons. The Peregrine falcon is the fastest animal on earth flying at speeds above 200 mph. ...The Peregrine also has the most acute eyesite of any animal on earth sighting it's prey from up to a mile distance. The park holds approx. eight Peregrine's.
The park itself is nothing to behold it's outdated and comes across as being disheveled in appearance. The admission price is not worth your money. The Park is unexceptional however the Raptor shows is what draws in visitors. On this particular day the Raptor show was cancelled due to high wind. The 'Falcon Man' set up a -Fly by mission for the Peregrine.
The Falcon flew across the sky at 'high speeds' across and over the park. Circled the park a number of times before touching down again. This Falcon flew at 200 mph sweeping just above my head 2 ft. -These Falcons are well acclimated to there trainers and are stay at home inclined. They listen and follow there trainers, which makes it dually interesting because they follow commands both verbal and gestured.
It was a little disconcerting to see the Falcons tied up as they were in cages. However too see them free and in open flight was a site to behold.
Raptor Ranch is definitely worth visiting for the Peregrine Falcon shows. I'm glad I did visit it will be an experience I'll always remember.
Do visit the Raptor and Peregrine...
